My Mig-21 has been comfortably sleeping in the hangar for months.

But every once in a while I take it out, start it up just to check that the default Su-25 engine sound is still there, check the g-meter and turn coordinator, to make sure that Z-fighting issue with the needles and ball has gone un-fixed.

Slowly I taxi to the runway and go full throttle. I am delighted as I hear the sound of the AB and the acceleration kicking in as soon as the throttle is past the detent. Too bad from the external view, the nozzle is still opening and the AB flame is off. Oh well...

However, the best part is still when I pull the stick fully back, and cruise along at 46º AoA

Question: are you ever gonna get these things sorted?

Yes.... And still on every landing you are missing the seat height adjustment switch not working so you could nicely get better view to front.... Or enjoy from the situation that chute doesn't disconnect so you could nicely get back to hangar....

I think that lack of communication, changelog updates and effective repsonsives feom devs is the biggest bug this module suffers from..

+1

That would be nice to have.

Never had that happened. Unless I forgot to remove the cap. :D

If I was a dev I'd be pretty bummed out seeing posts like this. Worked for hours on end trying to make the aircraft as good as possible only to have customers brush off that effort and focus on tiny inconsistencies. (Remember this is LN's first module, and it's still considered one of the best!)

I know for a fact every time I jump in the fished I have a blast. It was my first module and I've never thought twice about my decision to purchase it. It requires constant attention due to the myriad of strange behaviors simulated, and don't even get me started on the flight model. Very positive response to inputs while still being very smooth to fly. You can really feel the plane's mass in the air and on the ground....

But god forbid the afterburner be slightly out of sync with the animation. Totally unplayable.

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.

Yes, just like customers are spending hours to enjoy from the product.... To find something.

Others job is to make a product, others job is something else so they can get and enjoy from the product.

Did we say we had second guessing about purchase? :music_whistling:

Yes it is "a plast" experience, until you always notice something small thing still waiting to get done.

Of course should I now expect to see "realism police" to steer on place and start saying how the seat switch shouldn't be operable because it wasn't in the individual model that was modeled from the museum yard?

I think there are bigger bugs, but anyway, when I first bought the Mig-21 I really enjoyed it. Leatherneck had good communication and I remember holding them on a higher pedestal than any other 3rd party. But things started to lose momentum and bugs stop getting fixed. I do love the Mig-21 as an airplane and would like to fly it more, but I can't overlook some of these bugs, I am admittedly a realism-nazi especially when it comes to FM and engine, and since there are now a few other modules that have reached maturity or are in very good shape, they are just more enjoyable.

P.S. the afterburner thing is not a simple effect sync bug, it's just wrong simulation of the AB. In this engine the nozzle has to be fully opened BEFORE the AB lights up. So the external animation is correct, but the physical and sound effects are not.
