Glad to hear that! I like how (and it wasn't intentional) the whole structure of mission building requires you to go through proper alignment in M-2000C :)

On mission 9, flight lead won't taxi out.

Hey, that is something happening to some people and rather connected to DCS.

Please see this thread for possible solutions, hope this helps!

Normally that's been solved with the two latest 1.5.6 patches. Which version of DCS do you have?

Ah... I see the release is still 1.5.5. That's annoying, I guess that's your case?

yes, 1.5.5.

Yeah, many missions are broken one way or another. You can either:

- try the work-around mentioned by Baltic (it usually works in this campaign), so simply launch DCS, start any mission, come back to the menu and launch mission 9. It's probably the easiest option unless you're playing other campaigns that might be blocked too. If you see the spotlights of the other aircraft shortly after the mission starts, it will be OK;

- switch to the beta branch and update to 1.5.6.1648.240, those days it's usually pretty stable and often the same version as the release anyway.

Mission 3 - the one with the AAR training. Most times my flight lead gets stuck taxiing ... just after he passes the troops (who are on the right) and the 2 mirages (on the left) he just sits there and won't move anymore.

In the end, after 4 or 5 attempts, I had to skip the mission by editing the logbook.lua.

Hey! Are you sure you are not taxiing to close to him?

I don't think so ... sometimes he gets a call from ATC telling him to hold, but no call to resume. Sometimes he just stops. There are some troops walking on the right, and I wonder if they're conflicting with him.

This happened to me a few times, you need to really keep your distance otherwise he gets stuck. By distance no less than 40-50 meters, until you get the message to get close.

I really did my best to have it working smoothly, defying DCS logic at times ;) but for most people it works OK. As OnlyforDCS says, really stay quite far behind. I will try to test the mission tonight to see what happens.

Okay It's possible I'm getting closer than that ... I mean I'm definitely not what you'd call "close" for taxiing as a wing-pair. I'll give it another try, really keeping my distance from him.

AI taxi behaviour is something that could really use some work in DCS. I fly with a group that makes little co-op missions (nothing as sophisticated as baltic_dragon's) ... and we get *so* many problems with AI taxi behaviour. If they ever feel like they need to stop for some reason then they never start again.

The campaign is excellent by the way baltic_dragon, favourite campaign I've played yet. Really immerse and has all those little details that makes it feel real, will definitely be looking forward to your next one.

Need some help with the AAR (Mission3) mission, it's literaly driving me crazy, and not for the reason you think it might be. :)

I can't get the tanker to release the refueling drogue. He keeps repeating "Return to Precontact". All the time. What am I doing wrong?! I'm flying literaly in perfect formation on his left wing, at his exact speed and altitude, and he keeps repeating "return to precontact".

I've retried the mission I think about 5 times now. It's driving me NUTS!! Im sure it's my fault and I've missed something obvious, but if someone can enlighten me Ill be much obliged.

To be honest this never happened to me - although I bever was able to connect for aly longer period neither. Perhaps it is something introduced with one of the updates? As for the mission it is not necessary to refuel for it to progress just use F10 to say you're done.

Just completed mission three yesterday and had no problems completing it other than not being able to hit the refueling basket :music_whistling:.

As myHelljumper says when you call "precontact" you will have to be within a few meters of the refueling position before he will deploy the fuel line.

Over the past two days i have had roughly two hours "basket" refueling practice and i still can't do it ... good luck.

Are the campain mission up to date or are there newer versions on the forum around here? Still having the wrong magnetic heading because of january mission bug, would avoid to edit all files one by one to change date :p

Posted

I think the problem of the wrong magnetic deviation in January has to be searched within the game engine itself, not in the missions.

Therefore changing the date in the mission files should be the only solution to this problem at the moment.

You have wrong channels set. Just keep red (top) radio on CH1 and you should hear them.

I've encountered a bug in mission 6. You with your IP enter orbit over a village bombarded by mortars and next trigger fails to activate, so your IP will keep circling forever.

Can you be more specific? What is the last message you get? Did you tune in manually to the frequency of ground forces and use F-10 to proceed?

I didn't get to receive that frequency. Last message was something like "let's orbit here" from my IP, tried the mission twice, then decided to skip it. When I played the campaign for the first time (around time it was released) I've had no problems with this.
