Hello gavilan,

please read thelinked threads on this post!

Hi Micha

Finally a got it running... parttialy because I have limited time for this. Radar and RWR are for my second fase but, I have noticed that exported instrument refresh had some refresh lag and the increment and movement is quite discrete. I have tested in the same machine and over lan.

Is it possible to improve its refresh rate in order to see a more soft movement o gauges and reduce the lag between DCS instrument and Ikarus?

Thanks for your kindly support.

Salute

Gavilan

Hello Gavilan,

please use the config values ExportScript.Config.ExportInterval and

ExportScript.Config.ExportLowTickInterval from the config.lua file.

More information can be found in the docu.

@McMicha: Let's do the A4?

Which gauges are the A4 used?

Actually, the right way for this project would be for you to do it yourself. Actually, that's consistent.

Anybody working on the F14?

I have started a mockup in photoshop, but if somebody else is also doing it I would gladly work in team as it is going to take a lot of time.

And another question, If I am going to make a tomcat profile it is going to need new instruments.

Where can I get the sources to hack at them?

Mi-8: rotor pitch indicator and airspeed

Hi.

Mi-8 rotor pitch indicator is not showing correctly. Top-Leftmost insturment above engine power indicator.

https://imgur.com/a/XS6zCJl

Can you also update Mi-8 airspeed indicator to match that in-cockpit. It is confusing when needle in cockpit and in Ikarus are not on same angle.

This is from DCS texture:

https://imgur.com/a/Ee51369

barometric pressure set on altimeter is off too (not sure if visible in screenshot):

https://imgur.com/a/UcAzZhd

Mi-8 clock:

Stopwatch seconds needle is barely visible. Also numbering is different. (0-30) vs (0-60)

Sorry it took some time I was busy putting online a proxy for my webstuff so here it is :

Ugly isn't it :)

But from here I will make a grid to place the stuff around. I am also in parallel slowly making some frames and stuff as this sample :

Hopefully I will pick up some speed as I go along. This is going to take a while...

I quickly put together a design using the snipping tool in windows to get dials from Heatblur`s F14 online pdf manual. I wanted to start by making a crude design just to see where everything can be placed on a 1920x1080 layout.

I am also drawing new frames, backgrounds etc to make it into a fully working F14 ikarus profile.

To get them animated, I guess I need to get some code in the executable (ikarus.exe) or in a separate library? This is the reason I was inquiring about the source code. I've been developing for a long time so I guess it would not be so complicated for me to add to the existing code base.

I am currently using a modified A10C Ikarus profile on a touchsreen and it is great! Since I am getting the F14 on wednesday there is no way I can fly it without a profile so if anybody want`s to help it would be nice.

Hi all,

I have some difficulties with one of my sim :

I use 4 projectors and 2 lcd display. One of the LCDs are used with Ikarus for the avionics. All the screens/projectors are at 50Hz and DCS is also limited at 50FPS via the graphics.lua file.

I have no problem with my first sim (Core I7 old generation with 1080TI) but, strangely enough, I have performance issues with my second rig (tested with two computers : Core I7 8700K and AMD Ryzen 2700X and 2080TI) :

Everythings run well at 50 FPS until I run Ikarus ! When I run Ikarus, MSI afterburner or DCS are still telling me a solid 50FPS framerate but I clearly see a lot of lag and stutter on the 3d view (projectors). When I close Ikarus, everything run well again...

Precision, I use the same config files/parameters on both simulators.

Any idea ?

Hello Cahfer,

please remove the frameslimit from the Grafic.lua file as a test.

This also led to frame breakdowns in my game.

But actually it was independent from Ikarus, that was related to the DCS ExportScript.

Thanks for your inputs McMicha,

I've tested without frame limiter (graphics.lua or via nvidia inspector). With these parameters, fps range from 55 to 150 FPS with or without Ikarus BUT, without Ikarus everything seems smoother. To be more acurate, when Ikarus is running, visually it's looks like the FPS are halved (even if the FPS indicator numbers displayed doesn't decrease !).

I assume you are using the 4 projectors in panorama. Would you get better performance if you rolled your 'ikarus' monitor into your total game resolution and forget ikarus? For examlple I use 3 screens plus bottom monitor for instruments, all arranged in windows side by side with #4 screen designated as 'Bottom', in-game resolution 7680x1080 (your res's may be different).

Thanks Klem,

actually, I have 4 projectors and 2 LCDs in panorama mode (11520*1080). The 4 beamers use nvidia surround mode to be like one big screen for windows.

This setup works well with my first sim. Everythings is almost the same regarding my two sim apart from the CPU, the GPU and the motherboard. The weird point is that the performance issue appear only with the more powerfull computer !

I will follow McMicha advice and check if there is something to change within DCS exportscript config files. I allready tested one thing : If I deactive DCS exportscript line within export.lua and run Ikarus, performance are OK ! (but obviously, the avionic screen is frozen)

Ok, i've checked every single line in F15C.lua (\Scripts\DCS-ExportScript\ExportsModules), with no result. The only way to get rid of the stutter is to delete allmost everythings...

I can't find the culprit so far

But I am really noob regarding lua scripting (regarding scripting in general, to be honest).

Is there something else to check with DCS ExportScript ?

Hello Chafer,

By "(but obviously, the avionic screen is frozen)" do you mean that Ikarus does not display any data?

This would be normal because you have completely disabled the export of the data.

Interesting is the previous statement "...Everythings run well at 50 FPS until I run Ikarus ! When I run Ikarus, MSI afterburner or DCS are still telling me a solid 50FPS framerate but I clearly see a lot of lag and stutter on the 3d view (projectors). When I close Ikarus, everything run well again..."

And the present "... If I deactive DCS exportscript line within export.lua and run Ikarus, performance are OK !..."

The DCS ExportScript can slow down DCS World a bit.

The program Ikarus should have no influence on DCS World.

Do you have the shutter even if the ExportScript is activated, but Ikaurs was not started?

Do you have the shutter even if the ExportScript is active, Icarus has been started and you are running DCS World in Full HD resolution?

Do you have the same graphics card driver version on the PCs with Nvidia 1080TI and 2080TI?

You can test the following again:

Fly with an airplane of your choice, save the track afterwards.

Take a look at the track and remember where something jerks.

Add the following line to the export file of the airplane after the version number (i.e. quite to the beginning of the file).

ExportScript.NoLuaExportBeforeNextFrame = true

Take a look at the track and compare it with your previous perception.
