dresoccer4 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Hey all - is there a way to enable forcefeedback? My Msft FFB2 joystick is just a limp noodle currently and makes it near impossible to fly. If the module has no FFB capability, does anyone know a way to have it just mimic a regular joystick? Thanks! Ramsay Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) ... does anyone know a way to have it just mimic a regular joystick? I used Jazzerman's modified simFFB for the Gazelle until the dev's added FFB support. Running simFFB after loading/entering the cockpit in DCS should add centring spring forces and friction to your MSFFB2. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2419366&postcount=152 Edited January 28, 2017 by Ramsay Add picture i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440

Dirty Rotten Flieger Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I tried the spring stick simulator but it doesn't seem to work for DCS anymore. I remember using it for the mirage when it first came out and didn't have FFB. Has anybody got it working for the Viggen. NO FFB and broken rudder has made it impossible to enjoy flying the plane. I just been earning start up ect... I should have known this would be the case. but i wanted to believe it would just work lol

Jazzerman's version is working for Win 10 x64 Pro and DCS 1.5.5, I don't see why Win 7 x64 would differ. Although not used by the Viggen, the trimmer function is optimised for helicopters - press and hold while flying, release to set magnetic brake/SAS/Attitude hold and neutral FFB stick position. Set simFFB to use the same trim/AP button as DCS to use it (or disable it by selecting a button number higher than the number of physical buttons i.e. 9). IIRC the original author wanted to improve the default ka50 force feedback, so developed simFFB, read the rest of the 'Damper and friction effects in force feedback for Black Shark' thread and give it a try. I'm not sure if average_pilot's original simFFB .exe's still work, as another member reported having issues but jazzerman's version worked for them. theGozr Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I am using FS Force Fly it like you stole it..
theGozr Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Damper and friction effects in forces feedback on SImFFB is they best and better than anything in DCS the dampering sets are good.. Alas DCS do not offer this on their settings. Switched to SimFFB Thanks for the reminder. Fly it like you stole it..
609_Relentov Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) I use an old MS FFB2 stick, and I was having return to center issues with Cliffs of Dover, and IL2/Battle of Stalingrad. Was driving me crazy as sometimes when firing the guns, the FFB2 stick would go limp-noodle on me, which really affected game play. I read about a small registry edit that basically turns off force feedback, but gives you return to center 100% of the time (if holding the stick normally). Ever since then, I've had never- failing return to center force, and don't really miss the lack of force feedback - works fine in the AJS-37. If you don't like it you can always undo it. Here's the tweak (I'm on Windows 7): - Open the registry editor (e.g. click the "Start" Windows icon at the left of the start bar at the bottom of the desktop and type "regedit" in the text box marked "Search programs and files"). - Navigate to the following "hive" via expanding the folders under "Computer" on the left pane: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/MediaProperties/PrivateProperties/ Joystick/OEM/VID_045E&PID_001B/OEMForceFeedback - Once you see the "OEMForceFeedback" folder, right-click on it and click "Permissions.." - You should see "Everyone" under the "Group or user names" - left click on it to highlight it, then under "Permissions for Everyone" click the check box under "Deny" and to the right of "Full Control" - Click OK - Close the registry editor Relent Edited February 2, 2017 by 609_Relentov
