razo+r Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 1.5.6 is on the Open Beta and not on the stable version, so make sure you try to update the open beta version
Coxy_99 Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) 1.5.6 is on the Open Beta and not on the stable version, so make sure you try to update the open beta version They have tried updating to open beta 1.5.6 with no luck verifying files and so on. Art-J Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Standalone user here as well, but I know that last year quite a few times not only stable patches, but also open beta ones have been delayed on Steam (from a couple of days, to a couple of weeks). Usually because of bugs reported by standalone users. I'd guess the same thing might be happening now. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Coxy_99 Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Possibly the case being new technology with the ground radar and so on.
Jafferson Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 The steam version is the "open beta - public" The stand alone Version is "open beta - beta" Note: today we release DCS 1.5.6 into Open Beta only. The public version of DCS 1.5 will get this update with one week if there will not any showstopper bugs. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3028651&postcount=44

Jafferson Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) This sounds crazy but its true, steam Version 1.5.5 is "openbeta - Public beta" Yes.. 1.5.6 is not available on steam, but announced for friday. Dont know how they call it for standalone " openbeta - beta beta??? public alpha??? or what ever... Edited January 31, 2017 by Jafferson
Art-J Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but, isn't 1.5.6 which is the open beta version at this time, is not meant to be available on Steam? The Steam version is 1.5.5, the Release Version? Steam users have an option of installing open beta next to the standalone copy, like the rest of us. It's just OB updates get published on Steam with delay sometimes. The only thing they can't do is installing 2.0 Open Alpha. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
