Friend of mine has one in his office that came off an F18 and it looks identical to the one pictured. I think most of the "Hook Points" were the same part. Less to stock that way. pyromaniac4002 Posted April 12, 2017 Share Posted April 12, 2017 The tailhook shank actually takes the majority of the force when the hook point grabs a wire. There is a lip that the point slides on to that creates contact between the hook shank and hook point all around the center of the hook point. The bolt mainly just holds the hook point to the shank.
