Does anyone have a photo of real F-15 in Mod Eagle camo scheme ?

Was looking at Airliners.net and FenceCheck.com but didn't find any... :music_whistling:

Sure thing, I figure the best source is the offical source!

Here's a few pics that show the Mod-Eagle camo very clearly, and recently painted jets.

A Langley F-15C in formation with 2 F-22's. The Mod-Eagle on the Eagle is fairly fresh:

Hope this helps!

As soon as this model is fully done, we gotta get some new templates for some realistic weathered skins...etc. It would be awesome. The current skins we have don't exactly match up to the new model but still compatible.

Not really, all of them are Compass Ghosts, if the "Mod Eagle" have FS36251 (Agressor Grey) as base color, than none of them is that camo, they're way to bright.

The USAF doesnt use Compass Ghost anymore, hasnt for at least 13 years

All the Eagles I linked to are indeed Mod-Eagle camo'ed F-15's.

Trust me, it's Mod-Eagle, as are all A, B, C and D model Eagles in the USAF and Air National Guard. The only non Mod-Eagle's are the E model Strike Eagles "Beagles".

Here is the tailhook, a detailed shot showing the lack of the "stinger" housing which was removed in 1992.

Here is picture, highligting the specific antennae on F-15C's.

Oh, now I see, the Compass Ghost was two-tone grey camo, the Mod Eagle is two-tone Ghost Grey (the darker looking kinda bluish). In that case the scheme provided by D-Scythe is way off. The base color is not FS36251 (Agressor Grey), but FS36375 (Light Ghost Grey). What D-Scythe posted must be scale modelers help, probably for 1:72, or 1:144 scale, where the paint must be darker. And I never came upon the "Mod Eagle" name :smilewink:

A bit late here, but I just never got a chance to reply.

Initially, as I watch the project progress underway, I couldn't quite pick out what Walmis changed, and but was happy a new model was being worked on anyway.

I took it in game, however, and boy was I wrong! Once you're ingame with it, it all comes together, and you can just 'feel' the model being much more detailed. Looking back at screenies of the old default model, the flat sides and edges to the low polly nose and round parts was awful! It really brings out the difference.

Also, the high quality skins you provided with it are simply amazing! Loving Mitch's skins, and Ice's too!

I'm a Die hard Flanker fan, but now, I find myself flying the Eagle and hot exclusively!

That said, I'll let everyone else handle the updates and suggestions, as they seem to be handling quite excessively well. ;)

Great job Walmis!

walmis, and chance you adding the hinges on the canopy as well? Right now there are none and there were none im original model, but there should be, the same way (just shorter) as the air brake has.

No longer active in DCS...

Yeah, they are pretty off, but it's hard to get them "on" because the colours look different depending on the lighting, and stuff.

And yes, I am seriously considering re-starting all my F-15C skins from scratch just for this model, but any work would have to wait until after I finish my exams.

Having just installed this beauty today, I have to give about 15896.8 thumbs up, more smilies than it's room for and about 20 cubic meters of beer. Absolutely stunning. Took a flight in the old one first, and the difference is staggering.

Excellent work, can't wait for more updates =)

hmm, cant get it to work for me :(

i downloaded the link from helenic squad a few pages back, put the exe in my lockon folder and run it, but it says error accessing some cdds files, which if i say ignore it will install, but in game it doesnt show up, however all the skins packaged with it show up on the list but not on the plane :(

i thought it might have been other mods so i make a fresh lockon install and it still did it, any ideas why?

seems like the installer is corrupt. Try downloading it again.

Excellent work, Walmis. The rounded portions of the Eagle are actually round now and OMG what fantastic detail! :D The actuators on the AB nozzles are one of the major pieces of eye-candy.
