ViperEagle Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Walmis, THANK YOU! I can honestly say that the new engine nozzles blow anything else out of the water. They are wonderful. I even reinstalled Flaming Cliffs JUST to play with the model. Considering the wonderful detail work you did on the engine nozzles, I cannot wait to see the work you are hopefully going to do on the intakes and turbine faces! A huge rep is inbound!
ViperEagle Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 On small thing Walmis. The "Tail stinger", the housing that contains the tailhook that extends between the engine nozzles? Is actually deleted/removed on all F-15's now. The tailhook is natural metal and exposed. Basically, it's sticking out of the rear of the actual body. Secondly, on most F-15's, the interior of the engine nozzles are streaked with black and white, much like automotive exhausts. The white color is more present in engines that burn very rich, and darker in leaner engines. You can see both the lack of a "stinger" and the staining of the engine nozzle in the attached pictures of Oregon ANG F-15D's. Also there's a very nice detailed shot of the inside of the nozzle. I hope this helps!
AJ.eightFive Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Flew around with the new model tonight. Very nice improvements. Noticed the tail numbers are back now, thanks for that! Since you seem to be very knowledgeable about these sort of things now, do you know if it is possible to change the tail number colour? I'm not suggesting you do so for your mod, I'd just like to know for my personal use.
Willy p. Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 help I need a little help from the experts, I’ve installed the new model and this is what I’m coming up with. Can someone please help me correct this? P.s. Wilmis, great job with this!! 44th_Willy p. 187 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://44thvfw.org
SuperKungFu Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 have you tried my way above? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
walmis Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 i have only one possible theory why it doesnt work. Maybe the graphics.cfg is read only? That would make sense as the installer modifies it to include the cdds. And for those guys who have bad aligment of weapons, meinit.xml did not update. Maybe read-only? SuperkungFu, when you installer the first time did it say "processing meinit.xml"?
AJ.eightFive Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Found a few nice line drawings. Hope these help with development if you didn't have them already. http://img100.photo.163.com/he3hai/11280457/249364552.jpg http://img100.photo.163.com/he3hai/11280457/249366834.jpg http://img100.photo.163.com/he3hai/11280457/249366187.jpg http://img100.photo.163.com/he3hai/11280457/249364740.jpg As well as this: http://photo.163.com/photos/he3hai/15887476/#p6 And: http://img195.photo.163.com/he3hai/23909148/605724781.jpg Edit: Also, does anyone else see the fuselage stations out of place or is this something wrong with my install?
walmis Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 i dont see anything wrong with that pic
AJ.eightFive Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Shouldn't the AIM-7's be perfectly in line with each other? As in this image: http://img100.photo.163.com/he3hai/11280457/249366834.jpg
AJ.eightFive Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Hmm, I see, so right now they are angled in slightly which is why they don't appear aligned correctly? There must be some way to correct this, after all the original F-15C did not exhibit this problem, with the old or new weapons as far as I remember. Either way, I will still use your model, it's a thing of beauty!
D-Scythe Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 i dont see anything wrong with that pic The noses of the rear AIM-120s should be perfectly aligned with the tails of the AIM-7s. Overall, the AIM-120s should be tilting slightly down. EDIT: K, got your answer :)
Willy p. Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 fixed some how Ok. So I took the .rar file and used Modman in conjunction with what the installer did....and "poof" I have the missing textures I was missing. Thanks for your suggestion “Supper Kung Fu” 44th_Willy p. 187 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://44thvfw.org
walmis Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 do you have 2nd skin on israeli side? And when you installed with the installer the times it didnt work, did it say "Parsing meinit.xml..." ? 1
Willy p. Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Walmis, When I put the .rar package in Modman it went through the install process again but stated that an F15 file already exist...not sure which file it was, I just clicked ok. It did say something about meinit.xml file but not sure if it said "Parsing" I was not paying attention very well at that time...sorry. 44th_Willy p. 187 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://44thvfw.org
