artmustel Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I've seen references to the Yak-40 aircraft but I can't find it on the store. Is it not available anymore or is just used just as an AI plane? for scenery?
some1 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 It's an AI plane only. Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
razo+r Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 If you want to fly it, you would have to mod it by yourslef, but normally it's only an AI plane
artmustel Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 Is the mod something that one can made easily using the mission editor or it is a more complex thing to do? if it is not too complex can someone explain how it is done? Thanks
razo+r Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 You have to edit files and stuff, a guide is here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116901 or in the whole "how-to" section
Art-J Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Someone already did: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2253746/ No idea if the mod works in 1.5.6, though. Also, keep in mind, that such mods are usually rather primitive as far as systems and flight modelling is concerned. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
hollywoodvillain Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 And you want to fly that in dcs because?... Much better off going to xplane or fsx. Plz dont let the developers think they need to spend precious resources on things like that. We need F-18, not cessna or yak or airbus or boeing plz
artmustel Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 I don't want to go to xplane or fsx, I thought this plane would have the same quality as the other DCS planes. Also I am sure developers would not take me asking like a pretext for creating commercial aircraft (although i am pretty sure they'd sell pretty well) :) @Art_J, thanks for your input, now I realize that the yak-40 wouldn't be worth the effort
hollywoodvillain Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I get it and im not trying to be a jerk, sorry I probably came across that way. Just that people keep asking about comercial aircraft and I would hate to see someone actually develop those in DCS...anyway if you haven't already check out xplane 11, amazing
artmustel Posted March 1, 2017 Author Posted March 1, 2017 I understand your point, after all DCS stands for Digital Combat Simulator hence commercial planes don't belong here. i was just curious and thought that maybe I could get a yak 40 with the same amazing quality the other planes have here. I don't like FSX much, is xplane 11 better than fsx?
Pocket Sized Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Not supposed to discuss other sims on these forums... DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule. In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.
hollywoodvillain Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 Always gotta be a party pooping forum police officer around here...ill just pm ya instead
