First. Assume it is broken for that price.

Second. Since you have no way of knowing what is broken, and the fact that you are probably not dealing with an honest person, I would not touch it.

So assuming it's broken, for $100, is it still worth it? The question is assuming worst case, how much would it cost to refurbish it?

I agree with cichlidfan .

That is pretty cheap - and if you do not know the guy, and have no way of examining the unit, I would probably stay away from it. To answer your question - could be a big problem. Not all parts are available from TM or easily gotten, you "could" end up with just a bad stick or worse a 100 dollar paperweight.

The Grip and the stick buttons are worth it alone, is this a full throttle and stick?

I am still leery because of the extremely low price, but if you feel you can spare the cash, in case it is completely broken beyond repair, and can arrange the sale in a way that you are comfortable, then I revise my opinion to 'give it a shot'.

As others have said, even if the grip is the only useful part, it is still not a bad deal.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.

It will be an in person transaction,

Great that you will be able to actually see it before completing the purchase.

Certainly worth a shot.
