Raptor22 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 This is ONE HELL of a bizarre story... do YOU believe it? I somehow think it's possible... although I've never managed this in LOMAC LMAO!!:megalol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1aKxAN7bAs&mode=related&search= Gigabyte GA-M55SLI S-4 AMD64 X2 4600+ 2.4GHz 2GB DDR2 PC6400 800MHz eVGA GeForce7950GT 512MB Samsung SyncMaster 906BW 19" Widescreen Western Digital Cavier 160GB 7200RPM SATA SoundBlaster Audigy X-Fi Creative MegaWorks 5.1 THX 550 TrackIR 4 Pro MS SideWinder Force Feedback 2 :joystick:
Disso Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Yes, it happened, and was posted several times already. The F-15 has such a wide body that at high speeds the fuselage gave it some lift and stability, it was basically a rocket. SU-30MKI F/A-18F ...Beauty, grace, lethality.
Pilotasso Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 much of that footage is fake (photoshoped reconstitution) but the story is real. .
Force_Feedback Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 That hangar wall might have been more real than they thought as well :P Nah, I even did it with walmis' new model, so yeah, it can even be done in lomac, without any 'cheating' other than trimming the new airfoil you just created :P http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/force_Feedback/ScreenShot_1942.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/force_Feedback/ScreenShot_1945.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/force_Feedback/ScreenShot_1946.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/force_Feedback/ScreenShot_1948.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v116/force_Feedback/ScreenShot_1952.jpg Yes, it was my first flight with the new model, and well, I got bored. ZoomBoy27 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Yes, it happened, and was posted several times already. The F-15 has such a wide body that at high speeds the fuselage gave it some lift and stability, it was basically a rocket. If you take a look at the remaining stub of a wing, that would have provided a percentage of lift. But pure power and the large frame are the main reasons for staying aloft. Raptor22 Posted November 20, 2006 Author Posted November 20, 2006 At first, I thought the A10 was the only jet that could fly with a missing wing... looks like I was wrong! Ehh.. I'll stick to the F15 from now on :D Gigabyte GA-M55SLI S-4 AMD64 X2 4600+ 2.4GHz 2GB DDR2 PC6400 800MHz eVGA GeForce7950GT 512MB Samsung SyncMaster 906BW 19" Widescreen Western Digital Cavier 160GB 7200RPM SATA SoundBlaster Audigy X-Fi Creative MegaWorks 5.1 THX 550 TrackIR 4 Pro MS SideWinder Force Feedback 2 :joystick:
A.S Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 This is ONE HELL of a bizarre story... do YOU believe it? I somehow think it's possible... although I've never managed this in LOMAC LMAO!!:megalol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1aKxAN7bAs&mode=related&search= Landing with 1 Wing on F-15 or Su-27 is definitly possible in Lockon. Funny thing is that landing with both wings down is easier. But depends a lil bit on which speed u loose one of ur wings. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Force_Feedback Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Landing with no wings on the kuz is more challanging, you have to be at ~410 kph at touchdown, the thing however is that is your speed drops under 390 you will stall, and meet either the back end, or the deep blue. oh, the glideslope is pretty shallow as well, not more than 2 degrees, and with quite a lot of AoA, something in the 15-ish. Wingless as in you've lost both wings, not with folded ones, since ED removed the aileron operation in the folded su-33 since 1.1 :( :P Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Zayets Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 You can walk the earth with one leg.You can even swim with one hand. Whether is possible to fly with one wing ... [sIGPIC]OK[/sIGPIC]
hitman Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 You can even swim with one hand... But your hand must have the rest of the body to swim...and I remember seeing Thing drown in the punch of one of them Addams Family episodes..when Thing takes the clippers to It (that one with nothing but long hair) and It tosses the Thing into the punch. :music_whistling: Intel 13900k @ 5.8ghz | 64gb GSkill Trident Z | MSI z790 Meg ACE | Zotac RTX4090 | Asus 1000w psu | Slaw RX Viper 2 pedals | VPForce Rhino/VKB MCE Ultimate + STECS Mk2 MAX / Virpil MongoosT50+ MongoosT50CM | Virpil TCS+/ AH64D grip/custom AH64D TEDAC | Samsung Odyssey G9 + Odyssey Ark | Next Level Racing Flight Seat Pro | WinWing F-18 MIPS | No more VR for this pilot.
