I purchased flaming cliffs thought gritted teeth, as i hate starforce with a vengence... well it's not making me like it...

Updated to the latest catalysts drivers and now starforce will not run the game, just says error, hardware has changed...

Without having to uninstall and reinstall (i dont have to do this on any other games) is there a way to fix it?

Hi its the gold version upgraded to 1.12a. I've reinstalled the game now, it seems a little "clunky" having to do that and set it all back up if i change a graphics driver!

You should update your drivers. Theres no reason why starforce should force you to do anything. If that problem persists I would go over to the starforce website and get information from them.

I had the same situation with the gold version when I upgraded my video card. I just put the CD back in the drive and let Starforce do it's thing. Everything was fine after that. No need to re-install.

Really? It told you: "error, hardware has changed..." or words to that effect? Because, until you said that, I thought that Hokum15 had installed the wrong V1.12a patch and was going to suggest as much. You mean the CD version of SF is also tracking hardware? I was under the impression the CD version only checked to see if you had the disk.

I have to say as well that I added one RAM stick and this stupid Starforce made me to lose one activation! When I will change the CPU I will probably have the same thing again. ED owns me now 1 activation, maybe more in future.

StarForce shouldn't force you to reactivate after adding a Gig of memory, it didn't in my case anyway. I also didn't need to reactivate after changing DVD RW drives, video cards, or adding a second video card. It DEFINITELY shouldn't need reactivation after installing a new video driver. I'm not sure how to help, but this behavior from StarForce is not normal. I recently had to use up another activation when I switched from XP x64 back to the 32-bit version of XP, but that's to be expected. Are you guys sure you didn't change anything else in your systems?
