ASUS M2N

AMD Sempron 3000

512 of the crapiest DDR2 ram (they didn't have Corsair value) :D

Galaxy GF 7600GS

Seagate SATA 120GB

Ugly case that comes with 420 watts psu

Haven't ried FC, yet but I can finally enjoy stutter free space flight in Orbiter. I get a solid 72 fps with anti aliasing on 4X. Oh man...I haven't had a stutter free gaming experience for three years! Can't wait to finally run FC in 1/3 its glory. :D

Oh I know I won't get a fluid fps in FC. I am just hoping to to crank up the graphics a notch or two. Hey, think you can spare 512 mb of your memory? :D

yeah, why did you get only 512MB of RAM ??? 1G should be, sort of, a minimum these days... alright, maybe you just don't have the $$$ in which case my question was a stupid one :D

512 is minimum requirement to run Notepad in Windows XP. You need more RAM.

its a good start. get more ram then more cpu and decent heatsink, then decide if you wana keep your motherboard. If so buy a bigger PSU. Make sure you get high amps. Then buy another hard drive and keep your 120 for back up. Install clean.

Oy... Everyone. Guys! C'mon... this is leafer. The dude who dwells in a project where people steal your flip-flops for god's sake. Hey, 512 mb is already stretching the budget. I got couple of stab wounds from the wife to prove it. :D

Seriously, I was going to get a Galaxy 6600 card and use the left over for another stick of ram, and an enermax power supply. The clerk told me I would regret it so I changed my mind and got the 7600 instead.

ruggbutt,

thanks, bud. The price for your cpu wouldn't fit in my tiny budget anyway. If I had bought a 100 usd cpu then I'd have had to get a slower vid card. But thanks, though. It's nice to be loved by total stranger. :D

Pilotasso,

That's not a gun, buddy. teh

I finally tried FC on my new coputer and what a difference!

I take back everything bad I had said about the graphics in FC. Oh man...I can't believe how pleasing the sim looks after I shelled out the money. hehe I still don't like the bland coloring terrain but it's a heck of a lot better than when I was using FX5200. A lot better!!!

As for fps, a constant 52 fps in clear weather and a constant 30+ in thunderstorm. That's all I ever wanted, man. Now, if I can navigate like real pilots I wouldn't even bother with civilian flight sims. Thinking of buying x-plane or fsx.

I'm a happy camper.
