Hiya all,

So, given my low end system, I was keen to jump on the creator's update, hoping that the new Game Mode would give me an extra few FPS.

However, it would appear that it is not playing well with Oculus. I am getting major stutters and outright freezing for several seconds (You know, that very disorienting feeling when it stops tracking and the picture doesn't change when you move your head? Very nausea-inducing).

My gut tells me that Game Mode, because it allocates resources away from background processes and focusses on the game, is pulling system resources away from Oculus. Therefore, I think the Oculus overhead that controls tracking and everything else is being starved for resources. I tried putting both DCS and Oculus Home in Game Mode, with no change.

Has anyone else had luck with Game Mode yet?

The game mode was reviewed earlier on internet. On this stage it gives lower fps then in normal state. Fps is higher with ground textures mod 10 on 1.5. Play dcs 2.0 too for better experience.

I just installed it. No time to play games, however general feeling while working on Windows looks improved to me. Quicker browsing, faster app openings... etc... No app compatibility issues for me until now.

I tried the game mode with NTTR yesterday without any noticeable loss of performance. The video capture works well but the colours seem washed out. May need to tweak some stuff:)

No frame rate increase all as was before but my colours are very nice now with the creators addition no more messing with HDMI trick very happy "Senza Peso demo" looks amazing with the right colour setting all so I was losing the odd texture in the "show down demo" rocks on the right bouncing from the rocket explosion had textures missing they looked black but all good now.

The above is with or with out game mode enabled.

Assuming your talking about using your Oculus Rift where are you making color changes?

Would setting the Rift priority from normal to higher help while in game mode?

I did the Windows update tonight but no Creator's update. There is the older version of game mode.

Hmm, interesting. Looks like it might be something in my setup, or maybe just that my system is already so taxed it leaves nothing for Oculus.

As for the creator's update, you can download it early if it doesn't show up as an update yet.

Yes I noticed the early download but will wait. I don't have any performance drop with it on but after the sim is over I need to reboot to turn it off or else everything is slowed down.

Is there a way to restore/turn-off without rebooting?

I was curious, so i downloaded it. Besides some updates manually, oculus rift, reinstall driver etc. No performance issues with the rift.

Game mode: I try later.
