ZeeMan90 Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 (edited) Hey guys, when I play the campaign I do the startup procedure as it has been explained in the training mission. Yet after alignment my heading is messed up. When I am at Vaziani RW it shows me heading 210. The right heading should be around 310. So far so good, changing from January will help according to other threads, but changing the Month to something else is not possible as the option is greyed out. So only flying with cV NAV will help me out? Another thing I have noticed. The briefing material does not provide me coordinates and altitude for INS aligment whereas in some youtube walkthroughs people go through their briefing material and they have all the information for INS on page 8. Why is this information no longer given in the updated version of the campaign? I ask because the information seem to differ. In Mission 3 the coordinates in the walkthroughs are: N 41 37 29, E 045 02 10 with 1490ft altitude. As this information is missing on my briefing maps I set up the plane with the data the F10 view gives me, which is 1493 for altitude. So a difference by 3ft. There is a DCS bug that gives the wrong magnetic declination values in the month of January. For mission bugs please go to the mission bug subforum. ZeeMan90 Posted May 10, 2017 Author Posted May 10, 2017 Thanks Zeus, mission date is January 27th 2009. When I try to change the month the game won't let me. I can only change the year. Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 (edited) Also make sure your HSI is set to magnetic (the leftmost setting). That, and proper INS alignment *should* show you the correct heading. Once I knew how to do the manual INS alignment, I turned it off though in the "special settings" menu. It saves time in multiplayer as well, otherwise my squadron members would have to wait too long since we do formation take-offs etc. Edited May 11, 2017 by Elysian Angel Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON

whaaw Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) Ok thanks for correcting that :) also dont forget to grab the newest updated Mission from baltic dragon, if its still january in yur missions then its the old ones i think. this is critical otherwise mission 1, 6, 9 and 12 wont work mission 1 ,9, 12: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=178599 mission 6: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3105538&postcount=257 Edited May 12, 2017 by whaaw SFMBE
ZeeMan90 Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) Thanks, so I just have to copy the .miz files into the mirage campaign folder? When aligning INS, do I use the kneeboard information for longitude, latitude and altitude or the information provided in the Ctrl+Y bar. I ask because the are a bit different from each other. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=173159 As in the thread by gospadin wrong altitude is displayed on my HUD, too. Fixes available? The campaign always requires you to start up from cold and dark, so it would be nice if it will display me the right barometric altitude :D Edited May 12, 2017 by ZeeMan90 Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL | ASUS ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming WiFi | Intel i7-13700K | Corsair iCUE H115i RGB Elite | 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-600 | MSI RTX 3080 12GB | Seasonic TX-850 | 2x Samsung EVO 970 Plus 2TB M.2 nvme | 2x Samsung 990 Pro 2TB M.2 nvme | 2x Samsung EVO 860 1TB | Samsung EVO 870 4 TB | Acer XB241H | Win 11 Pro x64 | Røde NT-USB | Beyerdynamic DT-880 Edition 250Ω | Logitech G502 Proteus RGB | Corsair K70 | Corsair MM300 PRO | TM Warthog Throttle | VIRPIL WarBRD w/ Warthog grip | VIRPIL VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base w/ VIRPIL MongoosT-50CM2 grip | VIRPIL MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | VKB Gunfighter Mk. myHelljumper Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 You have to set you altimeter to the QNH -> 1013. Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA
ZeeMan90 Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) To do this I just have to set mbar stat to "1013" on the Altimeter? The briefing says 1033. Yes 1033 is definitely not the QNH, that is the standard pressure at sea level. Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA
Azrayen Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 1013 is not QNH, it's standard pressure. And Mirage mostly uses QFE for take off ad landing. Set your altimeter to zero. You're at QFE setting. Easy peasy :)

Nealius Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Setting to QFE doesn't sound good when flying between two airfields of different elevation.
Azrayen Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Perhaps that's why I wrote it's used for T/O and Landing. ;)
Nealius Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Is this actual French SOP? From what (little) I know, USAF pretty much sticks to QNH when below TA. I figured most air forces would be the same.
