Highwayman-Ed Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 This one is a bit odd, and I don't know if DCS itself is to blame, but the folks at Oculus say if it aint in their store, go talk to the game developer so... When playing DCS 1.5 for over 15 - 20 minutes or so, I occasionally get an issue where the audio drops out. The only way to get it back is to quit DCS to desktop, Disable the rift as an Audio Playback device in Windows, re-enable it and then start DCS again. This does not happen with any other Audio device that I've used, only the rift, and DCS is the only game that this problem happens with. I've changed the USB port that the rift uses, re-installed the Oculus software (both suggested by Oculus), but neither have done the trick. Now they've effectively washed their hands of it and pointed me over here as I stated before, DCS is the only thing that suffers with this problem. Anybody have any ideas? Aries Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Same here... ...but I don't remember having to restart DCS... I only disable/enable Rift Audio and it comes back... at least it was so the last time I had this issue... But yes... it sure is a bummer when in the middle of combat you become deaf and speechless on TS... :wallbash: :music_whistling: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ...the few, the proud, the remaining...
toutenglisse Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 I had the issue - for me it was due to usb device connected with front usb ports. With nothing on the front usb port (usually mouse or paddle) the stopping sound issue never happens. With DCS I use all usb ports so I use other headphones than rift's ones.
Scendore Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 This is a known issue... You must make sure you're using a USB 3.0 port and in some cases your Motherboard USB 3.0 might not be compatible. There is an Oculus checker which will tell you if your MB chipset is compatible. In my case I ended up purchasing a inateck card for about 30 bucks and it works flawlessly with my CV1 setup.
