B-17G NO Liveries Folder or description.lua

Hi Guys

I want to make skins for the B-17G as at the moment the only skin avilable is the default one which is a bit like the Attack of the Clones

BUT I have noticed in the Mods> Tech >WWII Units > Textures folder there is the B-17G ZIP file but there is No B-17G folder in Liveries but there is for all the other WWII Assets and they all have the required description.lua.

I know I can just create one but I would still need the all important description.lua to make skins appear in Mission Editor.

Any help would be very much appreciated

I was able to confirm that this works. You will need to change the third column names to your textures.

 

Pathway: \Bazar\Liveries\B-17G\B-17G Your Livery

I tried this but my skin still not showing in Paintscheme box in Mission Builder.

I placed in the Pathway: \Bazar\Liveries\B-17G\B-17G Your Livery

but still no show.

Not sure what I am doing wrong:dunno:

The Directory will work, but if will make your install fail integrity check.

Thanks SkateZilla, I was not aware of that. I will check to see if the directories are deleted during a repair.

 

Update; Just did a repair and the files remained so all good.

Reviving an old thread. I'm having a h3ll of a time getting custom liveries to work with the B-17. Is this still possible in today's DCS folder structure? I've read several threads from 2+ years ago, but nothing is working for me. TIA.

Yes, the liveries for the B-17 do work .. you have to place them at /saved games/dcs/Liveries/B-17G/ (substitute dcs with dcs.openbeta if you are not on the stable branch)
