uri_ba Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 I'm still waiting for the Orion SDK to be implemented in DCS :) Creator of Hound ELINT script My pit building blog Few DIY projects on Github: DIY Cougar throttle Standalone USB controller | DIY FCC3 Standalone USB Controller
BaD CrC Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Leap would be the ideal solution for DCS but they need to improve their product significantly from what I heard (I don't have a leap controller). ED started to support the occulus touch, and the result is impressive even tough it is very incomplete (cannot flip switches or anything and collision with cockpit elements is not managed). I hope they will continue this way but then I have to figure out how I can wear my touch controllers AND hold my cyclic and collective. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Drexx Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 The new drivers for the leap motion (orion SDK) work VERY well (night and day compared to there earlier drivers), and needs to be implemented, I would LOVE this! Major problem with Leapmotion or any glove which simulate hands movemant in game is 2D cursor in DCS. DCS need to implement 3D cursor movemant inside cockpit so Leap will have more precision even with old drivers will work much better. Without it it is pointles to use it.

ED has the 3D hands already in the A-10C. So "all they need to do" (it is easy to say) is to implement the Orion to DCS so you can map the real hands tracked by the Leap Motion as the virtual hands in the cockpit. Already the 2D mouse is excellent if we can get the Leap Motion to work as the mouse cursor. Like think about mounting Leap Motion to front of your Throttle, so when you would move your hand little over throttle you would get a mouse cursor moving with your finger, then just press stick button (VR UI implementation already) as clicks. Or just mount it to HMD and that's it. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
