MirabelleBenou Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Hello ! First, sorry if bad english :) It may not be a bug but a bad manoeuver from me, but when I try to land, I'm not able to select landing flaps (everything work ok for take off). I push the button in the cockpit, my speed is below 300 Km/s(I tried at 200), but the flaps remained in "flight" retracted state. After landing, I'm able to put the flaps on "landing" state (but well.... it's a bit late :) ). Any idea ? I tried with NTTR. Pretty sure that I have the same problem with 1.57, but have to check. Thanks ! Have a nice day. 06th Multirole Helicopter Regiment Bataillon d'hélicoptères de combat - Escadrille FENNEC
rrohde Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 I believe the flaps come out at different speeds - so for the first detent (or take off flaps) - 160kn, and landing flaps at 140kn (sorry, using knots and feet in the cockpit). MirabelleBenou Posted July 19, 2017 Author Posted July 19, 2017 Thanks for your answer ! Anyway, I'm talking about Km/h (not Km/s like in my first post %-) ), but I'll have to check which unit is used in the cockpit.... I'm pretty sure its Km/h, but well.... It may be the source of my problem (I thought with Km/h and the gauge show me Kts). I've just checked the documentation, and the gauge p133 is not the same as the one I have in game. No yellow mark for me for exemple. That may explain why I sometimes have some difficulties to brake %-) (Too much speed). 06th Multirole Helicopter Regiment Bataillon d'hélicoptères de combat - Escadrille FENNEC
JG14_Smil Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) Hello, Gear down @ 340kmph, Flaps @ 310kmph, full flaps @ 260 kmph. You need throttle at 80-85% and a VVI of -4 to -6. The slowest jet in DCS takes a long time to speed up and slow down. Better early than too late. Edited July 19, 2017 by JG14_Smil

I think I read somewhere here that instruments change between imperial and metric in the L-39 depending on avionics language set in general game options. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Ramsay Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) The type of Gauge and it's units depends on your Options\Gameplay\Units setting i.e. IAS: Imperial=knots, Metric=km/h The L-39 has an air pressure switch that will disable or retract the flaps automatically @ 310 km/h (170 kt) Final is 270 km/h (150 kt) decreasing to 220 km/h (120 kt) as you pass over the threshold. Touchdown is at 185-200 km/h (100-110 kt) Simulated Flame Out landing (throttle at idle). High Key and Low Key are about 1/3 of the way down the runway (aligned with the planned touchdown point) and the landing/braking run also takes about 1/3 the runway - so you should have +/- 1/3 the runway length for an "error margin" in case of falling short or over shooting your planned touchdown point. MirabelleBenou Posted July 19, 2017 Author Posted July 19, 2017 Thanks a lot everyone ! That was it ! I was in Imperial but thought to be in Metric :) 06th Multirole Helicopter Regiment Bataillon d'hélicoptères de combat - Escadrille FENNEC
