Targeting Pods

Hey, I was looking trough some Youtubes and came across this:

Notice that the A-10 is carrying the Sniper pod, which we don't have modeled for our A-10s and station 2 (where we are used to have the TP) and what seems to be a Litening Pod, which we are all familiar with, but... check where it is attached ! On station 9, where we can only attach Mavs, bombs and rockets ?

 

Is there a reason to this ? Why can't we do that ? On which stations can it really be put ?

 

On a side note, it is kinda sad, that ED don't pay any attention to the A-10 anymore, except the occasional campaign for it. You can really tell it is from the old era of modules for the sim ^.^ ( and not only the a-10)

That's another, more updated/upgraded version of our A-10C. And that pod is attached to the same station as we can with our hog.

ED got permission to model a Suite 3 aircraft. This is no different than what we will have when we get a specific model of the F-18C. Modifications that came later will not be present.

Station 9 in that video isn't a TGP it's an illumination flare pod. And we haven't carried sniper pods at Moody in over 6 years even with suites 7 through 8.

 

Although that video was uploaded in Sept 2016 it's an old video, we haven't gone to afghanistan in many years. That A-10 is likely suite 5. So not that much newer than what we have in DcS.

Although that video was uploaded in Sept 2016 it's an old video, we haven't gone to afghanistan in many years. That A-10 is likely suite 5. So not that much newer than what we have in DcS.

 

Ah, I see, thank you. What is this " illumination flare pod" ? Does it have a codename ? How does it work ? I know about the illumination rockets, and I have used them. Also, is the litening better than the sniper ?

Illumination flares are described in the DCS A-10C manual.

The illumination flare pod is containing illumination flares which you can drop.

Have no idea what you're on about, station 3 is the sniper pod the original post made mention that a litening pod was on 9, which it is not.
