Yea I agree with moving the headset on your face. What I do is loose all the straps and go to the lens spacing section of the rift where you gotta look at the two crosses.

Align the headset properly until both crosses appear clearly and adjust the lens spacing for the vertical line to be clear then tighten all straps. Takes a while to do but it made a big difference in clarity for me.

People say it should feel like a tight hat more than a scuba mask would on your face.

I get that I can use the Night mode. I have a few times and t helps, but not much. I personally don't like night mode anyway, even at night. I prefer the green HUD. But it is still a work around no matter how you slice it, and it's something ED has acknowledged is a bug/problem. So I'm sure they will fix it but until they do I'm not going to use it at least for the A-10C during the day.

I was talking about the Night Mode in the actual Steam VR Vive settings tab.. not the orange hud (green is best in VR)

**But this is only good for day time flying. it turns the backlight of the VR to low.

btw, VR ZOOM found in the UI settings of DCS is the biggest single improvement to the game. I can zoom into the floating hud and read my way-point/lettering crystal clear!!

The zoom really helps me read the small writing on the m2000c. I'm stuck on the third tutorial though for ins. I create a mark point using the hsi dials and fly to it but I never hear from the instructor again. I wonder if it's something I'm not seeing again or looking at the wrong icons on the hsi.

Nake sure you are using them in the right order (the naming on the HDI is reverse to the order of things you need to do IIRC, so first go to the one further to the right and then add distance in the one on the left).

Also just run a 'gross error check' on where you are heading to your custom INS point. I believe it is 180 deg from the airfield at 20 odd nm. So does your WP take you to that general location? You also need to hit it within a mile to register.

Yup it looked to be about 180 degrees to the left, at least that is where hsi needle 1 was pointing (the thick one). I flew that heading for 300 miles or so until it all counted down to zero and then it started over from 0 going up.

It's possible that by the time I turned towards that heading I may have flown past the 1 mile by the time the thick needle was lined up with the reference triangle on the hsi at the top.

The waypoint I believe still pointed towards waypoint 1 even after setting the custom ins point.

Yup so the first time I was doing it I mixed up theta and rho. Theta is all the way to the right for heading of 180 and rho looks like the curvy P from what I remember from physics in college lol. I actually had to pull up my notes from 6 years ago haha. Going to run it again tonite and see what I did wrong. The mirage is a fun jet compared to how I've been flying in the a-10. Can't say I have a favorite yet..maybe it will be the f18 or the harrier from the previews I've seen so far!
