I am not sure if this is operator error, DCS issue or something you guys can address. I have been flying he F4E in the Iran-Irak campaign. Flying mostly Sead missions as the campaign is just started. When we reach the IP point I order my wingmen to ‘Attack primary and rejoin’. What happens immediately is that my wingmen start flying towards waypoint 1.

Now I have noticed before that the waypoints on the F10 map never increment. The yellow dashed line always points to waypoint one. With previously run campaigns flying a Strike mission this was not an issue but I am wondering know. The Sead mission does not have concrete target to attack unlike a strike mission. Wondering if that causes my wingmen to return to waypoint 1.

Any ideas?

Hello,

The same thing happened to me on diffirent mission and fighter. I take off carrier and put the hornet in auto let it fly over the way points. I then leave and controll the carrier, for example, the hornet suddenly turns to go back to way point 1 even thought I had just flown over it and yes yellow dashes to WP1 would be on the F10 map.
This was a while back for me it was on a mission in Marianna Island. If I recall correctly I tried, taking off and put the hornet in auto and F10 then cycle time and l see it eat up the waypoint and yes they were gone after fly over, that worked fine. For me, I think it happened if I flew over a WP while in the hornet and then left it would start over to WP1. I did not think it is the mission itself. I am interested in what causes this.

Hope someone figured it out.

Hello
The ‘SEAD’ task has not been modified by DCE, it remains original to DCS.

However, I think that IA F4E have trouble with the sead in general.

Yes, I can’t hit anything with the Shrike so no surprise there. The issue is more that the wingmen return to waypoint 1 when you give the command to ‘attack primary and rejoin’.

I did find a workaround by ordering to attack air defenses.

in SEAD, the package does not have a ground target assigned (as in Strike), so it is normal for this command not to work.

On the other hand, it's more surprising that they come back in WPT1.

During your flight, do you pass (all together) on this WPT1?

Hi @Miguel21, yes I do. I always follow the flightplan. Jester reports every waypoint and switches to the next just fine. On the F10 map it is just not recognised.

Update: I just flew a Strike mission and here to my wingmen returned to waypoint 1. When engaged by SAM they ditched there payload as well. I believe they should not do that either.

Hello
access to the Documents\DCE_Manager\log.txt file is blocked or locked by another or old process.

so... restart the computer
and if it still doesn't work, delete this file, see the DCE_Managere directory

so, in SEAD, I suppose the only order they should be given is to attack the SAMs.

In Strike, whether or not to jettison the stores is a discussion I've had several times with CEF, and ... we don't agree 🙂
From his point of view: a Strike flight that is intercepted ‘must’ jettison its stores.
The emergency jettison is therefore activated, and I suppose they have the same logic for SAMs.

Does this version solve the problem?
(I don't really believe it, but 🙂 )

If not, does this bug prevent the rest of the program?

G'day Folks,

A quick question: What is the "Clone Campaign" function for? When would you use it?

Many thanks.

I choose T

I select 13

image.png

I select number of flights 1

image.png

I select 2cd and then after thinking appears the message "Not enough ready aircraft for all client"

And still like that with no stop.

Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks in advance.

Well, we're taking it one step at a time ^^ (sorry)

I haven't had time to test it properly, but here's the latest ScriptsMod which should fix that (hopefully it won't break anything else)

Cloning a campaign means you can play the same campaign with several different types of aircraft.

Previously, Cef had to offer as many campaigns as aircraft types:
Hornet over Caucasus
Harrier over Caucasus
Tomcat over Caucasus etc...
But, basically, it's the same campaign.

With this cloning system, Cef offers you 2 variants of the same campaign:
WOC-Blue
WOC-Red

It's then up to you to clone the campaign if you want to
WOC-Blue-F-14
WOC-Blue-F18
and so on.

It's simpler for us, and more flexible for you.

Here´s my first War over Beirut debrief: I did activate all the higher tier enemies,
nullStill losing 43 friendlies, 10 due to a2a seemed quite harsh. Probably just a dcs ai thing, but ill leave this here.

Well this campaign was initially planned for a gradual build-up of enemy forces to give NATO a chance to weaken the Syrian army before the Russians appeared... It is certain that activating the best red fighters from the start while the Syrian air defense is still at full strength should not help... It's your choice 😉

even then it´s only 10 losses due to a2a combat
so ususally the advanced fighters activate later automatically? Didnt knoiw that ^^, thought it was a choice kinda thing or they wouldnt appear at all. But ok so i can just play vanilla

With this campaign I tryed to follow a kind of "scenario" 🤫 : OTAN tryed to suppress/destroy Syrian coast SAMs to be able to sypply Beyrouth with C-130. This should enable US air defenses near the airport. Syrian Air Force starts with only few squadrons active but it will change quickly. If syrian losses are too high, Russians decide to intervene 🫣

I have a question

What is NG?

It was a way to make difference between the old DCE campaigns not supported anymore (and surely not compatible with DCE_Manager) and the new ones which should (!?!) be compatible with it.

Hi, I'm wondering if you're planning any campaign on the Kola map. Preferably with F4, Mirage F1, F-14... I'm thinking of buying the map, but I'm somewhat addicted to DCE... so without a campaign it loses a lot of interest for me.

Hello @PB0_CEF

I'm back again and I have a question about the oob_init. what is tasksCoef used for. I notice it wasn't in the example but it was on just about every entry. I want to assume that 1 equals a normal chance for the task to be assigned to a flight while .5 means half as likely. I wanted to check since I noticed task and tasksCoef didn't always match up.

I also have base mission if you wouldn't mind looking at it and giving me advice on how I can improve it and/or if did anything incorrectly. The only units I believe that aren't static are air defense units. The aircraft are just there so I can look up livery names and visual planning purposes. I do want to do SCUD launchers like you do mortar teams in War over Beirut, but I'm just trying to take it step by step right now.

Thanks for your assistance and I'm in no rush so take your time if you can get to it.
