Vatikus Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 (edited) Could we please get more realistic radar display down the road... I've attached a still from a video...https://youtu.be/bFHF9j_LvPk?t=1103 Edited September 12, 2017 by Vatikus
shonist Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 (edited) First photo seems from a really low res camera from old times... no way man, looking at 35:35 of the video, the HUD seems very clear and nice like the razbam one. i doubt the Radar screen would looks worse in the screen than in the HUD (Talking IRL). baltic_dragon Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 They look pretty similar to me.. very similar. What is it that you would like to update in RAZBAM's radar? Vatikus Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 it's @18:20 or so: .... What I am pointing out is not the quality of sharpness, but symbology is totally different size and selected target has info different as in dcs Also in video one can see how the scan line is functioning
myHelljumper Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 I don't see any major differences between the video and what we have in DCS, can you be a little more specific on what is wrong ? Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA
Frederf Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 If the goal was to simulate the phosphor CRT screen similar to the image shown then the DCS module could do a lot better in terms of fonts, screen geometries, kerning, and the background color. If practical a simple post process pass for phosphor bloom would go a long way too. For one thing the CRT is curved surface.
Verde Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Just don't make symbols smaller so VR users can see a thing;)
