Cobra847 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Couldn't resist and bought the Viggen and it could be a really very nice add-on, if it wouldn't have the really bad internal engine sounds and the fact that you can hear the engine even with the engine not running. As everyone seems to be talking about the Turkey now it would be nice to know if Heatblur is planning to fix the sound issues and the floating AI Viggen? (the groundspeed issue has been acknowledged already) I have never heard of the interior engine sounds being poor (in fact, quite the opposite, we receive a lot of praise for our soundwork) - and in particular I've never heard of the sound being on with the engine off. I recommend you try a repair of the aircraft to see if it fixes the issue first. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
Quip Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Sound is excellent. The sound may be the generator if it's on?
Cobra847 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 1. E.g. in the INT_Engine_MediumHighRPM.wav the oscillations are definitely noticable, there's an additional hissing noise in between and there's a noticable gap between the beginning and the end of the loop. It's similar (without the hissing noise) with the INT_EngineHighRPM.wav. During my first flight (low level cruise at max dry power) I thought I had been doing something wrong and scanned the engine instruments to detect any fluctuations. 2. This problem has been reported more than half a year ago but (apparently) hasn't been acknowledged yet;) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=181987&highlight=sound I've tried to use the replacement sounds to get rid off the engine-cutting-out sound loop problem but these file affect all other planes as well (in a negative way) Thanks for the report! The sound loop hitch will be fixed, but the minor oscillations are intentional. Are you doing any EQ on your computer so that perhaps these issues are far more audible to you? We could never confirm the "silent engine always on" bug as it's not occurring here (even with audio maxed out) - but we'll re-investigate. I just bought and installed the Viggen last week, and noticed that even while cold and on the ramp there is a very quiet engine noise and visible, but weak, exhaust blur coming from the engine. This is in 1.5.6OB. Perhaps fixed in 1.5.7? I haven't upgraded due to performance issues.
razo+r Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 I noticed too an engine sound when both engine and the electric systems are off. You can hear it from outside and from the cockpit. To add: The sound changes (sound from the rear sounds different than from the front) when passing the 0/0/0 point of the Viggen.
