Is the Razbam Harrier manual available anywhere online? I purchased the module, but I want to wait until it's released for the stable version as I don't want a third install of DCS on my system. I would however, like to get started reading the manual. Anyone have a link or information?

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Thanks exray. The pocket guide gives me something to look at, but I was really interested in the full manual. Is it somewhere in that enormous post you linked?

The full manual isnt ready yet, and you dont need a third install of DCS, you can easily convert your current 1.5 stable into 1.5 openbeta using the DCS_Updater.exe utility ... it will take a Little while since it will download new files, but it's easy to do ... and you can convert it back to non-beta in the future.

Oh I see. Looks like I'll be waiting not only for the stable version, but also for the manual. The thrill of flying is unbeatable, and of course I love to blowshtup, but there can be no denying that I'm here for the tech. I've read the manual for each previous module in it's entirety before my first flight, and I'm convinced that it's much more rewarding this way. I'll wait and fly this study sim when I can study it. Thanks for the responses.

Too early to tell when exactly but it seems we’ll be repeating the M2K scenario guys with the manual..

I prefer the official DCS manual. Since this is undeniably a study sim, and I was conditioned to NATOPS while in the Navy, I don't fly a bird until I read the manual. I can't imagine why they wouldn't release it with the module.. beta or not. It's been 1.5 years. They couldn't still be making design decisions could they? As a software developer myself I can tell you that method is a frustrating and futile way to run a project. I don't see myself investing in their study sim products in the future if they don't provide study material.

Does that mean that you will be the one writing a proper manual for the Harrier?

I actually loved and enjoyed the one you did for the Mirage, but I believe a better use of your time is on Mission creation, as your Campaigns & Training series are seriously some of the best available on DCS :) .. let someone else write the manual.

Cheers

Thanks! But it would make sense now for me to write / update it, as I've really got deep into most of the aspects when building the training missions. Plus I would do it at work when things slow down, so it wouldn't stomp that much on my time in mission editor. And since I have the MiG campaign ready and am finishing the training missions (dumb bombs and guided bombs are in recording, air to air script is ready) I should be able to easily fit the manual writing into my agenda...

:) when you put it that way, it’s hard to refuse ... I look forward to getting that manual, as I actually love to study each aircraft in depth, almost as much as flying on them :D

Razbam have done a really smart move by getting you onto their team, it’s one of the reasons why I purchased the MiG-19 on release .. the first module that I’ve purchased with no discount, ever ... I really laughed hard on its second training mission, when the instructor said that there was a snitch amongst us :D

Cheers.
