I had same problem but then I realized I had bombs, a whole lot of them and it weighed me down. Then I realized the weight is to much. So make sure you only have aim-9's and then try it. Also set your water to takeoff and nozzles to 85-90 degrees. Hope it helps

First make sure you are not too heavy, a good rule of thumb is a take off weight below 21000 lbs. (you can stretch this a bit depending on ambient temperature/altitude and whether or not you have turned the water injection on).

Your plane should already configure itself for VTO on the HUD at the moment but that may change later. (it's very useful for maintaining your position in a hover.)

Depending on temperature and altitude you may need to turn the water switch to T/O but it isn't always necessary.

Set your nozzle lever to 82 degrees as this puts the end of the nozzles even with the ground.

Slowly increase the throttle until you are airborne.

For specific information about performance charts/etc. take a look at the pocket guide that RAZBAM has put up in the general forum.

I hope that helped a little.

Why does how much money you spent matter? It’s not like you can buy skill- you just have to learn and practice

Biggest reason as everyone else said is weight. There’s a reason you never see video of harriers taking off vertically unless it’s an air show.

Check out these videos(the third),and remember to make your plane without any weapons;

http://cromhunt.proboards.com/thread/343/dcs-world-av8b-harrier

So Try in first to taxi ,you will learn to use the nozzle.

Once familiar with taxi stop your plane, take flaps down and check out that are full flaps down.

Push the throttle slowly and once you see plane moving, check out your nozzle position to slightly goes forward.

Make the water switch position up,will see while increasing the throttle that you get more power.

Push the throttle full forward slowly and control your take off with the stick to get it vertical

Take care of water effect don't use it too long time.

Hope it's usefull.

Remember that you have to make all these moves very slowly

That's it you are in flight.

PS:if you need the video from inside the cockpit,to check out parameters,i will do it and post here.

Thank you folks, how can I unload the plane, where is the configuration in the world Beta.

Sorry in Argentina 60 dollars is a lot of money, normal salary is 400 dollars and less.

But you are very kindle people to help me, thanks again.

I suggest you run the instant action mission with the engine running. ( I know it is cheating but it helps you to get quickly the bit you want to practice.)

Now pull up the 'Communication menu' by pressing \ key. (When the text menu comes up use the F1 to F12 keys to select what you want.) Look at this post and look at the key board commands for the su25T many key board commands are common.

(Note depending on what key board map you have on your PC this may not be the key you have this command printed on. Just keep try other keys until you find the right key.)

Now then call up ground crew then the re arm and refuel option.

Move the slider to reduce fuel.

click on each weapon station and clear it.

Click OK Then wait until an in games message says refuel and rearm complete.

Now you should be able to practice vertical take offs.

Let us know how you get on!

Cheers

Thank you my friend, you are a very nice person, sorry for annoy you with this, but the technology overwhelm me, and all the planes have many bugs, Xplane11 , FSX Stream Edition, it is hard to recall all comands.

Thanks again, I run to do what you told me.

Thanks a lot.

I’m sorry if I was snarky. I’ve just seen so many people lately complaining about how it’s unfinished (even though they know it’s still early release) and justifying their impatience with the fact that they paid money for this, that I assumed this was another one of those threads. Please forgive me.

Even for me in Canada it was a lot of money to spend on myself just before Christmas.

The best thing to do is simply watch YouTube videos of others doing what you want and try to copy them. The mission editor is important to learn so you can adjust things before you fly like loadout
