tmansteve Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Not sure what SRS PTT Mapping is all about. How does the Align Push to Talk work? Just a little confused. Cheers
Cornelius Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Whats the point of having the option to tell Jester switching the AN/ARC182 Radio Mode to DF, but at the same time no possibility to tune in a VOR Station? Again, did I miss something, or is everybody happy with "only" using TACAN?
Gunfighter6 Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Thanks Hornblow but what does that have anything to do with "command unrecognized" in VIACOM AIRIO? The had the ground power turned on already and air connected. It's part of the start up. AIRIO is just not working for me and I've already comb through the manual before posting here. I don't know what else I am missing....I don't mind using the wheel but would prefer to just use comms. Win 10 · i9900K@stock · 4070Ti· ASUS Z390-A · SSD · 64Gb · TM Warthog · CV1 · Quest 2
Cornelius Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 (edited) I can't get AIRIO to work. TX5 button works fine if AIRIO is disabled. When I enabled it, TX5 pushed command is unrecognized. No response from Jester of course. Just trying to get Jester to respond to "startup." Am I missing something? thanks. What do you exactly mean by TX5 pushed command is unrecognized? Tells you Voice Attack/Vaicom that, or is it just Jester not reacting? Because I was struggeling the last two days with Jester not responding to "Startup", which is a DCS Bug. So far only occured to me, when cold start on Stennis, with other F-14's on the deck. DCS unfortunately has a maximum sound limit, so in a busy airspace or in presence of too many sounds, this can lead to loss of sounds with Jester. Hence it could be that in the campaign you do not get the sound, but you do when you spawn single on a carrier. Edited April 14, 2019 by Cornelius

jasonstory44 Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Is there a way to use Viacom and PTT for communications only and use only VoiceAttack (always listening) for cockpit commends? Or do you have to use PTT for anything VoiceAttack related once Viacom profile is started? brindle Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I am not sure if this was covered. But ordering Jester via VaicomPro to go to a selected waypoint is no issue at all. Unfortunately, if there are more that 3 waypoints in a mission, what do I tell him? Will I need to re-activate the wheel just to see what buttons are pressed for more waypoints? Why does the AIRIO program have only 3? Why not at least 8?
MrShooty Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Does anyone know if Vaicom pro works with the A10C enemy within campaign. The intro specifies that it has a great many custom messages and it doesn’t work with simple communications on. But it doesn’t mention whether full PTT on Vaicom will work. I’m hoping so since I use VR and the keyboard is not an option. So voiceattack is a boon.

Because thats all you can store in the INS , but you can select Inital point, fixed point and Ground target, plus home base so that makes 7 Look at them as navigation points and not way points on the Jester wheel they are called steer points and not way points Inital point is where you set your flight up for the target Ground Target is what your going to hit Fixed point is where you bug out to Home base is where you land Edited April 14, 2019 by chaser [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

chaser Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Ok thanks for explaining what they mean. I have a clearer understanding now. Initial point Ground Target Fixed point Have to be planned into the mission your flying if they are not you can add point in the mission editor and get Jester to select the three points above from the map I think you have to prefix the points as follows IP GT FP For the INS to allow you to store them as extra navigation points [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Brute4ce Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 I don't now the great technical impossibility that prevents us from having the wheel, or an option to have the possibility, but some of us are asking for this since first day and we do not get an answer. Please, the wheel is usefull, and it allows do things that the VAICOM can't. VAICOM allow also select radio options menu saying "options, take 1..." Why not the wheel? If finally not implemented, please communicate it, and I and others will finish to make a voice attack profile for Jester via "A, CTRL+1.." +1 for VIACOM AI RIO + wheel as backup

RedeyeStorm Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 And you can add them through the mission planner as well. That is what I do with the dce-campaign.
Herisson Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Does anyone understand why I am not hearing any of the radiocommands? When I am interrogating, I can hear MY command (I mean, the recorded ones in DCS like "Kobuleti, request engine startup"), but can't hear a response (although I can see it written). Does it have something to do with Push-to-talk functions being "voice disabled". Gunfighter6 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Corneilus, thanks for the reply. I just mean that I use the TX5 button to talk to Jester like I would with the wheel enabled. Anyhow, he doesn't respond to any commands, I've tried them all. Even cussed at it, LOL. I alt-tab to AIRO and noticed the "command unrecognized" error. I don't think it works anywhere for me. I was using instant action cold start on Nevada mostly. I'm pretty sure i'm doing something wrong but I just can't figure out what it is. I tune to the correct channel/freq and try to contact Tanker/AWACS/Carrier/Airfield/Flight/Wingman and... nothing happens. The command is recognized, but I don't hear my "Player Voice" repeat the command on the radio, and I get no response from the intended party. But it seems to only occur in MultiPlayer. In SinglePlayer, all seems to be well. I stand corrected. It is NOT working in SP. Tested in Hornet, Tomcat and Warthog. jasonstory44 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Hi guys, I'm trying to setup Voice Attack and Viacom for the first time. I keep getting a warning in voice attack that Sonic Studio may cause a conflict. I can't figure out if it actually is or not. Thanks, Jason I had the same warning for about a month with Nahimic (another sound processing app that was installed with the Realtek audio drivers that came with my mobo). Everything on the VA and Viacom end still worked. However, I did manage to rid my computer of the Nahimic software by removing all drivers and apps associated with the sound card, and D/Ling a driver only installation from Realtek.
