Flagrum Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) The flight manual and possible additional documentation of a module is located (aka deeply burried) inside the DCS installation folder. Besides from the DCS installation itself, no Start Menu entries are added when a new module is installed. Reading questions regarding where to find the docs ever so often here on the forums ... ED, please make the docs folder the modules easier accessible! For example, add a link for each module in the module manager that opens the respective Docs folder. And/or add means to get to there as well from the module icons on the main screen. Just make it somewhat obvious of how to access the docs. Edited December 23, 2017 by Flagrum 2
Isegrim Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 +50000003002350.2 I have been just about to post the same. The Documentations are simply not that easy to find as it should be. "Blyat Naaaaa" - Izlom
grunf Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 +1 Even though I know exactly where the manuals are located, I often look for them online because it's usually quicker and easier then digging through all those folders...
Home Fries Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Agree. Perhaps ED could add a pop-up PDF selection to the icon on the DCS menu, right next to the one to set the active wallpaper. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
skypirate Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Wow! OP reading my mind. Just yesterday was digging to find the long forgotten AJS manual and was thinking, why not all manuals are in one place easily accessible, like the Documents folder for example. I copy paste them all in my Dropbox anyway, to read on iPad while flying but can't cope with the revision that way... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Regards!
LeCuvier Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 I use Nimi Places to group my desktop shortcuts into containers and prevent Windows 10 from re-arranging them arbitrarily. One of the containers has the links to all the flight manuals. This works well as the document file names do not change with versions. Only negative: I cannot open the flight manuals after launching DCS World, as this game fills the entire screen and does not behave like a real Windows application. QuiGon Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Only negative: I cannot open the flight manuals after launching DCS World, as this game fills the entire screen and does not behave like a real Windows application. When ingame: Hit CTRL + ALT + Delete and open the Task Manager. Now you can access your desktop. Open the file you want or just some folder and close the Task Manager. Now you can use Alt+Tab to switch between windows and DCS just fine. Johnny Dioxin Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 I agree - though I upload them all to my Google Drive account so I can access and read them from anywhere and from other devices whilst actually flying. But yes, I don't recall anything obvious that tells customers where to find the documents for modules.
