philstyle Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 The pilot's flashlight hardly makes a difference to the cockpit when activated (DCS 2.2). This has been a problem since early in the 2.0 development. I am unable to find certain cockpit instruments when the cockpit is in shadow, even during the day in near-full sunlight. razo+r Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Maybe put the gamma up and try again. Doing so does actually make NVG and the flood lights more effective. Maybe this is also a thing with the flashlight...

Maybe this is also a thing with the flashlight... Good point, i'm using a gamma setting of 1.8 in DCS 2.2 open alpha because the default 2.2(?) setting is to bright for my taste at noon. Setting it back from 1.8 to 2.2 improves the issue for me a little but it is not as bright as in DCS 1.5.8 Modules: KA-50, A-10C, FC3, UH-1H, MI-8MTV2, CA, MIG-21bis, FW-190D9, Bf-109K4, F-86F, MIG-15bis, M-2000C, SA342 Gazelle, AJS-37 Viggen, F/A-18C, F-14, C-101, FW-190A8, F-16C, F-5E, JF-17, SC, Mi-24P Hind, AH-64D Apache, Mirage F1, F-4E Phantom II System: Win 11 Pro 64bit, Ryzen 3800X, 32gb RAM DDR4-3200, PowerColor Radeon RX 6900XT Red Devil ,1 x Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe, 2 x Samsung SSD 2TB + 1TB SATA, MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals - VIRPIL T-50CM and VIRPIL MongoosT-50 Throttle - HP Reverg G2, using only the latest Open Beta, DCS settings
razo+r Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 For day flights, I usually use 1.5, for Night missions though, I put it up by 1, meaning I'll fly with gamma on 2.5 which helps a lot in the night.

Nealius Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 It works fine for me in 2.2 if I have deferred shading off.
