Sokol1_br Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) From TECS topic: Thoughts: - Good looking and seems practical - but the "wall switch" on throttle side deserve a better design, maybe in Fw 190 style. - That rotarie under throttle grip can be used for "zoom". - The rudder and aileron trim on (MON)-OFF-(MON)? switches fit well for Bo'X (that don't allow set then in axis) but two extra rotaries with knobs will be useful in other games for same trims. The design/labelling is clear oriented for Bo'X series commands. - More important: throttle lever need a "gate" (similar to a afterburner detent) - preferable adjustable for avoid undesired use of "take-off/emergency power". Perhaps like in this throttle. Edited January 2, 2018 by Sokol1_br

AeroGator Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Just to clarify something, it is a mock render, which has never seriously been planned for production. One of "maybe some day" projects that every good designer has in numbers. (sorry Sokol it might be a good joke to post it, but it'd better be kept till 1 April). Please do not see it as an official announcement or any sort of promise. :joystick: > Best Regards from VKB Lair, AeroGator

Sokol1_br Posted January 2, 2018 Author Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) Why "joke"? The concept show good points, for example the levers block, but is a bit clustered and (IMO) too based in one game functions. Interest of players in a proper throttle for propeller planes exist - GVL224 and Kanttori consoles show this. Of course will be a niche in the (small) sim market. jocko417 Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Sokol, you're right that it looks made especially for the IL-2 series of sims, but I celebrate the fact that we are in a renaissance of sorts for sim software and hardware these days. Even if it's not an official pic, I wish VKB all the best for 2018, the year that may shine the brightest for all us simmers! :)

pepin1234 Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 I will buy this one. I love it for my iL-2 series. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

AeroGator Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Vintage - what it is, fully explained There is no such word as "never". Some day anything can happen. For now and for foreseeable future, this Vintage model is a concept. As a concept, it might some time be developed into a serial model. Or, not be developed. Or, be replaced with another concept. Or, be edited beyond recognition. At the moment the only thing it is is a concept. One of several. What you see in the picture is no more than outer shell. There might be nothing inside, under these metallic texture. Or, there might be a well thought over set of internals. In this particular case it is the latter. This concept may already be moved up to production department. Which, of course, does not mean its immediate serial manufacture. It only means the beginning of another many month long period of working on this project before the first samples start showing up. But there are yet no plans to go ahead with it. Someone asked us whether we had ever thought of making a throttle control system for piston planes. This picture is a good illustration to the answer, which is yes, we had. And we still do. So, maybe - some day. We keep thinking about piston aviation, and more control systems for the planes of that era. Something will come their way. Sooner or later. When we finally get to the point of making a throttle control unit for piston planes, this concept will be on the shortlist, together with a few others. > Best Regards from VKB Lair, AeroGator
.Tigre. Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Very beautiful , i'll buy it without a doubt
