predator036 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Hi guys, I have version 1.58 of the NO STEAM caucasus and I have downloaded several mods of aircraft ships carriers and I follow the installation instructions, which say that you have to decompress the files in the following route .... dcs world \ mods \ tech here I have a single folder called WWII UNITS, the files of the ships I copy them out of the units folder, I leave it like this.... dcs world \ mods \ tech \ charlesdegaulle ship or KMS Bismarck (for example) When I enter dcs and I go to the missions editor, I choose blue coalition (for example USA, France, United Kingdon etc) and when I am going to add ships, I do not see the aircraft carrier charlesdegaulle and KMS Bismarck!!!!......:mad::mad::mad: in the section on adding static objects \ ships, it does not appear....:doh: in the section on adding ships, it does not appear too......:doh: However, if I open the encyclopedia, inside the mission editor, if I see the charlesdegaulle and KMS Bismarck with its technical characteristics, but I see a 2d photo of it, I do not see the 3d design in 360 degrees as it happens with boats that come standard.......:(:(:( What I can be doing wrong ??? is incompatible with version 1.58 ???? the route dcsworld \ mods \ tech is the correct installation route ??? Yurgon Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 (edited) Like SkateZilla said, the Saved Games folder is the preferred location for mods nowadays (the change was somewhat recent, and not all mod installation descriptions match this yet). Just one more thing: When I enter dcs and I go to the missions editor, I choose blue coalition (for example USA, France, United Kingdon etc) and when I am going to add ships, I do not see the aircraft carrier charlesdegaulle and KMS Bismarck!!!!......:mad::mad::mad: Be aware that units are actually bound to countries, not coalitions. It might be possible that the Charles de Gaulle is only available for France, Bismarck for Germany and so on (or they might be available for all countries, that's totally up to the mod designer). Just pick a suitable country first and then check if the objects are available then. Edit: Mods cannot be installed in the DCS World/ Folder, they will fail security check and be blocked from loading. Sorry for OT, but are mods actually blocked from loading when installed into C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\... ? I'm aware this is not the preferred way any longer, but so far I haven't had any mods blocked. Edited January 17, 2018 by Yurgon
