Hi, Dcs 2.5 Beta in VR with the rift.

Getting 45fps but will drop to mid 20s, tried all settings and read everything.

On the windows resource monitor the only thing that is peaking is the 3D on the graphics card which coincides with the lag.

Not sure what that means ????

Everything else, cpu, memory, gpu memory is low and normal.

Usually get 90fps in the other versions, is this just the Beta ? bit worried about 2.5 release. I have a decent rig so there must be a setting somewhere that i am missing ? Tried all options in the game, also deleted my Beta saved game folder to start again.

I jumped straight in with the rift and found it was struggling a wee bit. Turned the shadows back to flat and was good to go. Without ASW I was hitting 70's with lots of sky and water but 45 was the sweetspot. My PD is 1.5 I have differed shading and cockpit illumination on, 16 x AF no MSAA most other settings on high and no heat blur

Happy tweaking :)

Also I found stuff running in the task tray was causing stuuters and FPS drops. Ccleaner and asus software where the culprits. Exit AI suite, EZ update and anything else that is running and may cause problems. Oh and if you have'nt yet run Oculus as administrator and when you start DCS it will run the rift without the overhead of oculus software

You could try loading Oculus Debug tool, remember this needs to be open in the background whilst running DCS world. Select Asynchronous timewarp and set to disable, I also set pixel per display overide to 1.2 to improve jagged edges and disable MSAA in DCS. I find that this sticks my FPS at 30. But it's constant it doesn't drop so it feels pretty smooth, as soon as I set Asynchronous timewarp to auto I find my frames drop to 23. That's what I find on mine anyway.

Hope you find something that works.

I use the Oculus Tray Tool with a profile set for DCS to disable ASW.

PD at 1.0

2x MSAA

8x AF

Deferred Shading On

Cockpit Illumination On

Gamma at 1.2

Flat Shadows.

Getting fairly reasonable performance so far.
