CoBlue Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 2.5 OB. Made a post about this in AV8B forum, but thought I post it here so you guy's won't miss it...OB & all. It affects all NVG/FLIR aircraft's. See pics & my settings here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3377295#post3377295 The new FLIR, can't see terrain differences, cities, airports, carrier clearly etc. Same with NVG, can't see much & very mushy. Also why so small FOV, only 1 eye? i7 8700k@4.7, 1080ti, DDR4 32GB, 2x SSD , HD 2TB, W10, ASUS 27", TrackIr5, TMWH, X-56, GProR.
Ramsay Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Also why so small FOV, only 1 eye? AFAIK NVG are like binoculars, IRL you see a single 'stereoscopic' circle with limited FOV, the large oval/full screen view was a legacy of a regular 3:4 screen ratio being stretched to fit widescreen 10:16 and larger ratios. I can't say if the DCS NVG FOV/sensitivity is correct (depends on model/year?), but what we have in 2.5 seems more realistic. i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440

For NVG's in the AV-8B there's this solution https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3348796&postcount=6 the file works just as well in 2.5.0 and it allows you to raise and lower NVG brightness as you wish.

IRL it depends, whether you use a monocular, a biocular, or a true binocular NVG...
