no special settings, no caplocks anywhere, smooth from I'd say 50-openend.

my Gsync kicks in at 50 fps, if I drop below I suffer as anyone else, but have no stutter or such, just with 45fps it's different than say 90, steering etc. is different, better at higher fps.

Ya, it works as it is, only "addon" I have is SRS, vanilla elsewhere.

I would grab my pc and throw it out of the windows, for f** sake I cant' fix this issue, is so disturbing.

Goa, as mentioned in PM, here are the attachements.

The first one is Desktop YELLOW and as soon as I start DCS Latency drops well into green.

The second one shows the Ka-50 Free Flight, the yellow spikes are from tabbing back to Desktop and shifting focus. DCS runs "green" only.

I had ProcessLasso started well before I made this test, so PL was active while performing it.

It claims to reduce latency and I set DCS as a SingleThreadApp, I have no idea if that made any difference, I have to try without to see if Latency differs w/o PL and even if, does it matter enough to be recognized.

Anyway, check yours and report.

edit* check your Latency WHILE you are seeing the stutter left and right side window view. Where is your Latency then ? any "yellows" or even "reds"?

Ok so I've tried DPC latency checker and it shows no problems, however according to other specialized forums that software is not giving correct results in win 10 as it is meant for other OS such as win7/8 ,the only availble sofware which gives correct results is latencyMon which is showing me me high DPC on nvidia kernel drivers during gameplay monitoring.

Would you mind testing your DCS with latencymon and tell me if it gives you any error?

Thanks :):smilewink:

Absolutely....

stay tuned

ok..here's the screenshot with the Latency Graph

it say's all ok and the highest latency comes from nvidia Kernel module, seems ok so far.

ok then definitely it is a DPC issue on my system as it reches 1200 (us=microseconds) and a warning message appears with latencymon ssaying that nvidia drivers are causing the DPC latency...

:(

It's gonna be quite hard to figure out what's causing this DPC latency with my asus strix oc 1080TI...:joystick::joystick:

It's basically what I first thought of, a bad teething of digital sprockets.

My approach would be minimalistic, try to free up the Data Autobahn as much as possible for testing. Disable all your USB, IEEE1394, LAN, Sound ( if DCS allows it ), just EVERYTHING you dont need for bare metal 10 booting into DCS or other games. Disable them all.

Then check if it got better. If it did, re-enable the devices 1 by 1 and check which one blocks your Autobahn.

YOu can also play around with the HighPrecison Timers available, there are tons of reviews about what can potentially done to solve this. Those timers are OS and Hardware dependant.

Some variations you wont have, some you wont be able to employ. You have to read a lot I am afraid.

It sucks plain hard that a Asus combo fails that much. Latency is the A&O of gaming.

Kick in the teeth this is :(

edit: you might want to read more into PL as it's pay-version has a Latency enhancer we, the free version uisers, cannot use. I am just not sure if that helps after spending money. The trial version ( if you still are in trial period ) afaik has it enabled.

Maybe this finding should be spread among the Pilots suffering TiR jitter/stutter.

Install the tool, get into DCS and check the latency, if it is above what we unaffected users have, then you have found the damn REASON why !!!

Hey guys,

I don't think that's an latency or special (Naturalpoint) TrackIR problem. I use an Tobii Eye 4C device to look around and have the same issue (LatencyMon shows always green).

Stable 60 FPS (capped with adaptive sync) = Smooth

<60 FPS = Jittery

Maybe try powering the PC off and pulling out the video card and re-seating it.

Hi,

DPC latency very unlikely has any effect on the issues you are experiencing.

Issues with DPC latency affect streaming data, usually audio, sometimes video. If you had real issues with latency you would hear audio dropouts way before noticing any other negative effects.

I solved my high dpc latency by updating chipset drivers to a previous version, i have no more dpc latency but trackir is still behaving the same.

So its not a dpc related issue.

I know this is coming out of left field but I've been having similar issues with TIR and, as a consequence, have been keeping an eye on this thread. The other day, out of an abundance of both frustration and curiosity, I set my Nvidia Control Panel settings back to the factory defaults just to see what would happen. I re-opened DCS and, wonder of wonders, TIR is now smooth as silk.

Are you playing with capped fps?what's your refresh monitor?

Nothing capped that I know of. I seldom pay attention to framerates, anyway, unless something turns the sim into a slide show. Refresh rate is 60Hz.

And I'm still in awe at how smoothly TIR now pans. So it wasn't just a one-off occurrence.

The mi8 has serious performance issues in the latest versions of 2.5. It is a good 20% less performance than any other bird and it just started recently. Trackir is also a stutter fest for me and only with DCS. Panning with joystick is smooth. The issue I have discovered is that it's fps related at anything below monitor refresh rate. <60 and it stutters. >60 and it smooths out considerably. Still lots of issues to work out with 2.5 it seems, particularly after the release that fixed the missing buildings in Vegas.

Yes the Track IR freezes, from time to time. Off the game, on the desktop, the TIR is smooth in every position.

I need to try by deactivating all softs that are useless
