Ironhand Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 (edited) I've always enjoyed traveling by rail. This is a quick and dirty video that takes a look at the new Caucasus map from a slightly different perspective. Scenes from Krasnodar Krai, the Black Sea Coast, and Georgia are included. I just uploaded it and it hasn't fully processed. Only the 360P version is available ATM: Edited December 5, 2020 by Ironhand 1 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.
Flow Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 That does not look like a flight simulator ! :) The graphics are really good. i7 7700k • 1080Ti • 32GB @ 3200 MHz • 525GB M.2 • Oculus Rift Warthog + Pro Flight
Silver_Dragon Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 great video ironhand :) DCS: Trains :D For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF
Ironhand Posted February 12, 2018 Author Posted February 12, 2018 :) Yes, I was pretty impressed at how detailed the landscape was in general. Also discovered that the rail system is fairly detailed as well. It even includes the circular rail tunnel in the real-world Tuapse River valley. Unfortunately, the sim's mesh resolution isn't sufficient for it to actually work as it does in real life. But it's there just the same which is pretty cool. great video ironhand :) DCS: Trains :D :) The Train Sim. MAD-MM Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Nice Video... This looks nearly like a old Train Simulator from around mid 2000, but nerveless impressive good for Flight Simulation. The Tunnels might be Dangerous for Passengers :D Once you have tasted Flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your Eyes turned Skyward. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 9./JG27

drPhibes Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Nice video! Did anyone else notice that the wheel gauge of the trains and the track gauge doesn't match? Perhaps the track texture is based on standard gauge (1435mm/4ft 8.5"), while the VL-10 and ChME3 locomotives are russian gauge (1520mm)? I guess I'll have to set the year in the mission editor to 1945 and check if the DRG class 86 matches the rail gauge (setting the year to some time in the "steam era" actually replaces the modern(-ish) comblock rolling stock with steam locomotives, if you have the WW2 asset pack).

Also some of the bridges compress the spaciing between the tracks.
