Worth buying in it's current state?

Been looking into getting the Harrier for a while. now that 2.5 has dropped I've been getting back into DCS and looking for another ground pounder than isn't just the A-10c. I've always been a fan of the harrier and it's such a unique addition to the sim. But how would you rate it in terms of it's usability in it's current state?

Im aware that being in EA there will be quirks and missing features but most of the things I've been hesitant about appear to be mostly implemented (at least in some form).

Something I've seen in Youtube videos state that there was an issue with the TGP and LGBs stating that once you lock a moving target, if it had moved too far away from the lock point the system doesn't update the release point and might be too far outside the range for it to pick up the laser.

Hands down. It's my favorite model as is. I haven't don't much with LGB's yet so someone else will have to answer that but air to air, rockets, bombs, mavericks are really easy to use. You'll also find that VTOL and short take offs are quite easy to perform but tricky to master.

I'd say now is the perfect time to get into the Harrier. It has enough systems in place that you can fight, and fly it. One of the last updates fixed the the big TPOD issue, so you can actually use it to lase your own targets. Working the pod, and firing mavericks took a little getting used to compared to the A-10. I feel like getting a module like this in it's early stages breaks up the task of learning all the systems since they all don't come with the early access. Plus it seems like RAZBAM is doing a good job of regular updates and fixes.

to be honest you don't find many bugs, I use lgbs, mainly on stationary stuff so never noticed, its probably the most stable plane in flight than any other, so sort of slow and easy to fly.

some of the systems aren't fully functioning, but nothing now that stops you from enjoying it

It is now my go to module. I fly little else. the TGP is fully operational, as far as I am aware, and there are systems being added on a regular basis. I believe auto-pilot is now enabled.

It was worth buying since first release; many videos have been showcasing its current capabilities, and all seem to agree that this is a great addon so far. Keep in mind this is a ground attack aircraft.

I'd buy it. Actually I've already bought it.

I fly it, vertical landings, taking offs, learning its F.M. etc.

Now, learning weapons etc.

I agree with Sideshow. I haven't seen any Early Access like this. :)

The up-to-date missing features list is here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=196533

Most of the advanced stuff still needs to be implemented. What you have now is enough to fly and shoot stuff. Just don't expect A-10 complexity.

There are no training missions and no proper manual, but you can find training material and real manuals on the internet.

The updates are kinda confusing, they sometimes push features that they did not intend to do (TPOD) or put the stuff in the changelog that is not in the software (Moving map). That is, if they make any changelog at all.

Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

How grouchy are you? It's a lot of fun to fly and fight with but a lot of the fiddly systems aren't implemented yet and its hard to say when they will be. You can look at the moving map thread and see what people are complaining about. If you agree with them don't buy it. If you think they're overreacting get it. (I'm happy with it just fyi)
