ФрогФут Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 We were talking about F-35. "Я ошеломлён, но думаю об этом другими словами", - некий гражданин Ноет котик, ноет кротик, Ноет в небе самолетик, Ноют клумбы и кусты - Ноют все. Поной и ты.
Rolim Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Ok. Started with the Gripen, I put the pics of the F-35, and Kusch mentione a topic about the Typhonn... My fault. Bimbac Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 My self, I'm a little baffled by this contraption: That's the adjustable hand support. It surrounds the front part of the stick.
JaNk0 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I read that the Gripen joystick only moves like 2-3 cm, making it easy to manouver under high g's. Correct me if i'm wrong? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Bimbac Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Sorry ;) It's like stock advice, you can't get it from those who know, but an educated guess can be of great value. Thanks for your input everyone. However, I can tell you that the buttons around Central Display (Tactical map) are actually sub-pages, so for example, MAP button allows you to adjust various map parameters. The same logic goes with all displays, but not all the buttons. For now, I really cannot tell you more.

Kusch Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Another Hungary JAS-39 cockpit pics: Give me "flying telephone pole" (SA-2)!
JaNk0 Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 That must be that most basic-looking cockpit there is  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
thesystem Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Strange Throttle..... DCS World, A10C, AV8B, M2k, FA18C, FC3, MIG21
Geier Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Strange Throttle..... I think the pilot can change the angle of throttle position according to his wishes;)

Geier Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 But it looks so...thin? Like some kind of sausage with a thick end on it:huh: Ach,so:) I thought you meant the position:) Thin... Of course - looks like a bit strange... But... I really don't know the answer:music_whistling:

JEFX Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Hi all! I find this cockpit really fascinating! Xealot, I think your last find, despite the fact it is in czech, is a fantastic find! I used an online czech to english translator and the result is VERY bad, but at least, there is a lot of info that we can understand now: http://www.tranexp.com:2000/InterTran?type=url&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.vztlak.cz%2Farmy%2Fgripen.html&text=&from=che&to=eng (actually, I am previewing it again and, unfortunatly, there is not much to understand... It is more like a teaser... Anybody speaks czech here? JEFX [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D
JEFX Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Hi! Bimbac Great! Do you feel like translating some of this for us? http://www.vztlak.cz/army/gripen.html Especially the description of symbols and elements of the MFDs and avionics, if you want (not the long texts, it might be too much of a job...). Thanks JEFX [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D
JaNk0 Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Great fins guys  keep em coming [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Bimbac Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Hello everyone, the info you have requested for translation is related to the modernized A version of the Gripen, used by Swedish Air Force. Since I am bound by the NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with SAAB corporation, I am not able to neither disclose any data, nor to provide any translations. Anyway, this is not a Gripen version I am familiar with. All I can tell you that the posted info is pretty accurate. For all of you that understand: I guess you know what I am trying to say. For those who don't: there is nothing you can do about it.
ED Team Olgerd Posted September 1, 2007 ED Team Posted September 1, 2007 Nice photos. Thanks. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. Наследство их из рода в роды Ярмо с гремушками да бич.
Poncho Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Great shots! Thx. I find the throttle interesting with his vertical position. I've seen something similar only in the f-104: and the Rafale:
211th_MadCat Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Maybe you guys will find this useful. I've translated just the part describing the MFDs since the paragraph above was mostly just a common and well known explanation why CRT displays outperform obsolete needle gauges.(I can translate it as well if you really feel like reading it;)). Because it was too long to post it directly I've attached a .doc file(it was somehow too large so I had to zip it).JAS-39 MFDs description.zip 1
