EmilDamian
Hi, I cannot enable tooltips on the first training mission of M-2000C. In VR the texts are very small and hard to read. Some tooltips will help. Anyone knows how to enable them? Is this a bug? baltic_dragon
Hey, I will try if these are not forced to OFF, if they are I will fix it.
ram0506
Can confirm this. Tool tips in cockpit are not working in first training mission. Thanks or having a look on it, baltic dragon! Especially in the first mission the tool tips are essential for cockpit familiarization. Ramsay
Hey, I will try if these are not forced to OFF, if they are I will fix it. TL;DR: Tooltips need to be forced ON to work. Detail: ̶U̶n̶f̶o̶r̶t̶u̶n̶a̶t̶e̶l̶y̶,̶ ̶i̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶s̶i̶m̶p̶l̶e̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶a̶ ̶l̶a̶b̶e̶l̶s̶ ̶s̶e̶t̶t̶i̶n̶g̶.̶ • The training missions have cockpit switch 'tool tips' when run as a standalone mission but not if run from the DCS 'Training' menu. ED know how to get them working as both their A-10C and L-39C training missions have working 'tool tips'. AFAIK other dev's training missions are similarly effected i.e. BST's F-5E Example Missions tested in 2.5.0.14304, but it's not a new issue. Cockpit 'tool tips' working from training menu • A-10C-Training-Start-Up.miz • L39-Training-1-Start-Taxi-TO.miz Cockpit 'tool tips' NOT working from training menu • F-5E Training - Cold Start - Taxi - Takeoff.miz • M2K Training 01 FINAL.miz Edit: Looks like 'tool tips' need to be forced ON in the mission's options for them to show from the DCS 'Training' menu Strange that 'Tooltips=OFF' is the default for DCS's training missions (perhaps a bug?) but it is, what it is. baltic_dragon
Hey guys, I have just checked it - the tool tips are enforced in all of the missions by default. Still, they do not work under training menu (they only do if launched as separate missions). I will try to inquire with ED how to fix that, nothing I can do in the meantime I guess :(
Ramsay
Still, they do not work under training menu (they only do if launched as separate missions). The 1st mission works for me after enforcing 'tooltips' = ON and copying the file to 'DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Missions\Training\M2K Training 01 FINAL.miz' I'll attach the edited file and link a video later once I've installed Shadowplay (might take awhile to encode/upload as I have low bandwidth). I'm on Steam DCS 2.5.0.14304 but don't think it should make a difference. Ramsay
Hey guys, I have just checked it - the tool tips are enforced in all of the missions by default. Most of the 2.5.0.14304 training missions have working tooltips, it's only the 1st and and 8th • M2K Training 01 FINAL.miz and • M2K Training 08 CCRP FINAL.miz that don't. Checking the 'options' file in 08, it too has ["tips"] = false Hope that helps - It was confusing when I tried to record none working tooltips in 'M2K Training 02' but they worked without any editing on my part  Edited March 2, 2018 by Ramsay i9 9900K @4.9GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 10 Pro x64, 1920X1080
DieHard
re: Message #8 The 1st mission works for me after enforcing 'tooltips' = ON and copying the file to 'DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Missions\Training\M2K Training 01 FINAL.miz' I'll attach the edited file and link a video later once I've installed Shadowplay (might take awhile to encode/upload as I have low bandwidth). I'm on Steam DCS 2.5.0.14304 but don't think it should make a difference. About the time you guys started this thread I decided to setup the Mirage controllers and learn this thing. Have had the Mirage awhile before the English translated cockpit. I put this module's learning curve on hold until recently. Yes, 1st training mission is a bear to learn without easy access to the tool tips. At least I have access to my tablet loaded with Chuck's guide and used as knee-board. Thank you very much for that .zip file. Boy, that sure saved me some time to modify Training Mission #1 . And this guy's English translated cockpit still is working in 2.5.1 OpenBeta https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1703066/ At age 66, learning new stuff is not as easy as it used to be. Any added helps are much appreciated by me. Cheers!! Edited May 2, 2018 by DieHard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
