Edit an EDM file to name textures different names

Hey Guys

 

I have 3ds max 2010 and would like to edit an EDM file so I can change the names of a few texture files and then save the changes and then replace that EDM file with the new named textures in the new EDM.

 

Can someone give me some guidance or a walk through.

It is possible but, and I'm sure Skate will also write this again, it's perhibited. So there is no legal way to do this.

Why do you need to change the names???

Furthermore; Any tampering with E.D. Assets is a Violation of EULA.

Its not any EDM from ED its for a mod. I have a vessel and I want to use the same ship but change 3 texture files names so it displays 3 separate ships in the same mission of that same model...You see I'm trying to learn 3dsmax stuff but I'm not sure if its needed to do this. I understand about Lau stuff. Just want to know if its possible to use the same model but have it show 3 different skins in one mission.

It is our model. legally purchased. Nevermind Ill go else where to get my help, thanks for nothing!

if it is your model, purchased you should have the source MAX file.
