Katmandu Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 I'm thinking about getting the Harrier in the ongoing Steam sale, but my main DCS install is standalone. Will i be able to activate steam module on my standalone? Sorry if this is a common question, but there were some recent changes with activation, offline use, keyless modules etc etc so I am not sure about the current status quo.
thrustvector Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 no I don't think so, they are to separate installs
nrosko Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Yes 2 separate installs, but same game. You could transfer them at one point. It appears you can't any longer? Win 10 64//4.5g i7 Kaby Lake//gtx Titan x pascal//16gb 3200ram//Asus Maximux Hero IX//Oculus Rift//
Katmandu Posted April 6, 2018 Author Posted April 6, 2018 OK, thanks for the answers! I don't want another DCS install so I'll wait for the DCS e-shop sale.
Foul Ole Ron Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 You definitely can't transfer the Harrier from Steam to standalone. There's no key to transfer and activate like before.

John Hargreaves Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 That made sense when there were different versions between Steam and the standalone, but now that both versions are the same and all modules are available on both, there must be another reason why there is no crossover. i7-7700K/Gigabyte RTX2080/Win10 64bit/32Gb RAM/Asus Xonar DX+Sennheiser HD380pro headphones/LG 34" UM65 @2560x1080/TM Warthog+VKB MkIV Rudder pedals/Rift CV1
nrosko Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/500/#1510447 seem they change the type of key to stop you doing it last year. Win 10 64//4.5g i7 Kaby Lake//gtx Titan x pascal//16gb 3200ram//Asus Maximux Hero IX//Oculus Rift//
