Aeroscout Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Just taxi one way or the other till you come to the end of the runway. If you want to do it properly, you will mostlikely be lined up more or less perpendicular to the runway. (usually) if the towel tells you to take off on runway 2. and your faceing 090, taxi right. you get the Idea. Make a mental picture in your mind, and use that to figure out where you need to go. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Or did they just not show up in the JPEG? This is what the Su-33's heading tape should look like (example of heading 275): Rich YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.
Kuky Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I use which ever the nearer end of the runway I'm facing... in emergeny such and enemy fighters right at the "door" of the base I take off anywhere possible so I am airborne ASAP :D In "peace" times I'll always use the runway and check for incomming / outgoing traffic. I'm not going to suport taxiway take offs and if i was in a SAM tank I'd certainly shoot hijacked plane(f****rs). 1 I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Jinky Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I find it very surprising to hear that proper take off procedures are not always followed especially with the amount of realism we ask for from this game. I just assumed that if I was to fly online that these basics of flying would be expected of me and taking of from a taxiway would be a big no no.
S77th-konkussion Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 It is- but admins can't be everywhere at once. If I or another admin see it happening- or- if one of us is on TS and someone says it's happening- it will be dealt with. Often these morons will simply run off into the grass and crash, anyway. cool_t Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Combat All I can say is welcome to the comunity  And learn how to "Antisapate" your enemys next move. Better safe then sorry, dont go for the kill, look for a good stratigic flight path in and out of the "Kill Zones". There are alot of good pilots you can learn from, and they are friendly as well. Cool T
porky Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 Good strategic flight, as in flanking some bandits and attacking from behind? Or staying out of their range completely, just following the waypoints and landing? Also, it's one thing to anticipate your enemy's next move, I'm not bad at that, but it's another thing having the knowledge to know how to counter that. And Ironhand, yeah they just didn't show up in the original print screen. Didn't really matter but thanks for noticing ;)
GGTharos Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Porky, they mean flying around your opponent's flight paths, getting them from the flank or from behind (flank is just as good) ... basically be where they won't be looking for you. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
