Recommended Posts

Question,

I have been making tracks in the 504th server and its some great fights and missions but the server is set without exernal views. Anyway to have external views when replaying the track so I can make my movie look a whole lot better. Thanks,

Hey,

Cool tutorial GA!

I got a good tip for all of you you don't possess the registered version of FRAPS. Simply use the Pan/Crop tool in Vegas an zoom in to get rid of that ugly "www.fraps.com". The problem with the recording time stays. :cry:

Use the utility called LOTU - unlocks the external views in such instances.

"The Recordist" is awesome, really good quality sounds there, the Hornet ones sound right on.

Something I've never heard in a recording is the really deep bass of the jet start up. When a Hornet or Hawk starts, there is the most incredible bass sound. You can hear it but the best bit is that you can FEEL it, even inside a building a few hundred meters away. Quite a low frequency. GA or anyone have this sound effect? Kind of sounds like a massive vacuum cleaner being turned on.

Its basically footage elements from FS2004 (recorded formation flying/dogfighting), integrated with some cgi elements (particle emitters and some 3d models) in AE7. So its kindof 1/3 of the way between machinima and CGI. This was more or less a proof of that concept for me.

You can include 3d models in your AE project by using a plugin called Zaxwerks 3d Invigorator. Its kindof a reach to call it a real 3d plugin, because it isn't. All it does is interpret 3d information and render it as vector graphics. You can use 3ds, lwo, dxf, obj, and adobe illustrator files. It can save in these formats as well. It supports texturing, specularity, transparency, and bump mapping. Its more or less a suppliment to 2d compositioning, its not the kind of thing you would want to use to make entire scenes, as its far too slow and akward to use for large renders.

Sound Effects

Excellent Post GA, years ago my dad had a collection of sound effects records of everything from submarines to Hawkeyes taking off and landing, with such gems as F-4 using Vulcan Gattling guns etc... I did a brief google search for aircraft sounds and came up with these;

http://www.grsites.com/sounds/aircraft001.shtml

http://www.audiosparx.com/sa/display/sounds.cfm/sound_group_iid.34

http://www.audiolicense.net/sfx/aircraft.asp

hope this is a help for those movie sound files

How do you speed up grabbed fraps footage recorded at half speed in Vegas? And how do you sync the video with sound? When you import the video in vegas, all scenes is at half speed. How to speed up just the video and not sound? It is less fps demanding to fraps in half speed? Never thought of that!
