ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Bought Lock On a long time ago. Great game. Yesterday I tried to play it online the first time and I have a ping all-right but when it comes to playing it hardly runs. Ping is like arround 100 - less or more - but when I play the game 'freezes' like about each 6 to 10 seconds. You can hardly trust or fly this way. My specs are _definitly okay. But I use XP x64. Any Ideas? edit: oh forgot: my connection is aDSL with like 6000kb/s down and 600 down
GGTharos Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 More specs! Are you using a dual core processor maybe? :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 More specs? Ok. No: Single core: AMD 4000 64b 2 Gigabyte RAM RX800 ATI As I said: My specs are good enough I can tell cos it runs all fine in singleplayer or even if I host a MP-game
ED Team Groove Posted March 27, 2007 ED Team Posted March 27, 2007 Router ? WiFi-Connection ? Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Ice Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 you could try running "enditall" (Google it) get latest vid drivers check you are connecting at 128/128 set graphics options in sim to minimum and work up.
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 I go in thru a router indeed. Its a Fritzbox (german product) with WLAN. i already shut down the wlan and hooked up with a normal LAN-cable - which actually decreased my ping by about 50 but didnt remove that lag at all. I am running the minimum of processes, ICE. Did you read what i wrote to you? My specs are not an issue BECAUSE I CAN EVEN HOST A GAME WITHOUT SUSTAINING A LAG of this kind. at least this forums seems quiet populated - hehe - thanks for helping me so fast :D
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 Latest of course. What did you think :noexpression:
Alvarez Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 It seems something else use your connection... The Tunnel at the End of the Light

ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 fc. ps: i even tried to set all the grafics to minimum requirements - no change hey alvarez :) sounds plausible. you know a good tool to check out what its? as i said: i have shut down almost all windows-services - not to mention background programs. everything shut down
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 Ummmm... this problem turns out to go in a complete different direction: i surprisingly found out lockonFC is using up 100% of my processor ressources (as i said 4000+) even when only in the main-menu o_0 !!!
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 First part: Firing up LOMAC. The part where the green bar is at 100%: Idling in the main menu Rest: Shutting down LOMAC and taking screenshot.
GGTharos Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 If possible, try a different network card ... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Pilotasso Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Ummmm... this problem turns out to go in a complete different direction: i surprisingly found out lockonFC is using up 100% of my processor ressources (as i said 4000+) even when only in the main-menu o_0 !!! Its normal in most games. When i play old games like master of Orion 3 (realy oldie) it does the same on 2D menus. Same for Falcon 4 and so on so forth. .
ED Team Groove Posted March 27, 2007 ED Team Posted March 27, 2007 its the fritzboy imo. have u tried to connect to the internet directly without a router and played MP then ? Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 MOO! Yeah! Best game ever :D :D No I havent tried to connect to the internet directly. But i tried to connect only via land not via WLAN as i said. i may try sometime but even IF this d be the reason - i still need a solution because i just need to go trough a router. at least other games can be played without a problem.
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 ManDay, do you have a keylogger installed? <----like a desktop spy of course not. just take a look at this screenshot i gave you. those are all the processes im currently running
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 That doesn't mean there isn't 1 installed...they are harder to find then a F-22. :D actually i can only tell i dont think I have one installed. i keep my computer clean and almost never had a keylogger or virus before
ManDay Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 Well I hope you get this problem fixed. I had a similar problem about 8 months ago I had pauses and stuttering every 20-30 seconds. uuuuhm why didnt yo tell before mate? so... how did y fix it then!!!?
UWBuRn Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I had stuttering problems months ago with XP64 while having Cool'n'Quite enabled but only online. Never understood why only online but that forced me to disabled C'n'Q or to switch back to XP32. Give it a try ;)
Aeroscout Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 oh, that's nice to know. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
ManDay Posted March 28, 2007 Author Posted March 28, 2007 I had stuttering problems months ago with XP64 while having Cool'n'Quite enabled but only online. Never understood why only online but that forced me to disabled C'n'Q or to switch back to XP32. Give it a try ;) I dont even have the CnQ-drivers installed! Going back to 32? No Thanks! I would feel like ** whenever i d remember i got a 64b processor for nothing :( But thanks for all the tips. I probably will format all in the next week anyway cos i do that like every month.
