Aeroscout
Ya, the americans really got beat up on. I dont think it was qiute realistic. Imformitive never the less. TorwaK
For a couple of years Iran was devoloping their own missile system based from Russians. Especially new generation Shab-3 missile is very effective and long distance balistic missile. Goverment use all money profits for defense which comes from petrol and gas. 192nd_Erdem
Informative indeed. I've never heard about those "chaff missile" launchers. But it seems to me that they've forgotten that America has 20 B-2's which are perfectly suited for that place :)

Aeroscout
I also think the americans would deploy a bit more than just one or twon F/A-18s. if they had, those sam systems would not have lasted as long. Aeroscout
I like option #3, but Raptors cannot take off from carriers. you can use the F-35, but it's not as stealthy and not as fast. i also see the point in #1, if ther is nothing imporntant to take down, why bother. (which leades to option #2. dont waste your time and effort... and equipment) DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
GGTharos
You could always station'em somewhere 'nearby' and air-refuel'em. After they bump off the big eyes, you can send in the superhornets and F-35's to do the rest :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
VMFA-Blaze
This is actually quite disturbing.. If Iran is as equipped as this little bit of propaganda reveals... Then the US will have a big job to try and defeat these guys.. It will not doubt be very costly and extremely bloody for both sides.. Lets just hope that we don't have to find out if this little clip is valid or not... Force_Feedback
This is a corporate video of Almaz Antey, nothing to do with Iran/Korea/Lichtenstein/Andorra whatever. Sales pitches are always designed to be 'positive'. Fact is that the S-300PMU2 intercepts ballistic targets at max 40km out with 0.8-0.97 probability, that is impressive. Offcourse something says if such virtual city will ever be attacked there will be more than 4 ballistic warheads going in ;) One thing is sure, no sane military would rely only on SAMs to defend some site, unless they want to spend more on missiles/equipment than the probable target is worth. Is someone really wanted to get rid of some site, they can always do it, it's just a matter of time and numbers. Not wanting to turn this into a pissing contest, but why is Iran not allowed to posess nuclear weapons, did they sign a non proliferation treaty? VMFA-Blaze
Not to turn this into a political statement, but as far as the present regime in the White House is concerned Iran is considered to be part of the "Evil Empire"... And thanks F_F for shedding some light on the Almaz Antey clip... So its just a sales pitch to get some country to by their system.... Hummmm.. Weta43
did they sign a non proliferation treaty? They did - & so far - other than withdrawing co-opperation with the UN inspectors, they haven't actually broken it - the treaties they have signed give them the right to develop non-millitary nuclear technology - including making their own fuel. But 'We' dosn't trust Iran (to do as we would like them to), where 'We' do trust Israel (to back us in a fight). Cheers.
Raploc
By withdrawing cooperation with UN inspectors, they are violating the terms of the treaty. Just to be clear. ;) So did the guy who used to be president (read dictator) of Iraq. I guess Iran is next on the list? Just out of curiosity, would a civillian be allowed to posess a military tracking radar? You know, some rich guy, nothing to do, well, buy some S-300PMU2 radars for in your back yard. Or would the country you're in be allowed to send a couple Harms to the vicinity of your back yard? Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
