RaceFuel85 Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 So I've been enjoying other games and sims..and one newer one on the market, a tactical FPS set in the realm of modern combat, and is squad based, has native VOIP. You've got two options, local and group transmit (IE in your immediate area and one for your squad) and you don't need to mess around with anything. It simply recognizes when you have a microphone and transmits. Would it be possible for something similar with DCS? No messing around with a 3rd party app (IE SimpleRadio), TeamSpeak or Discord..just..get in, set the radios, and transmit.
SharpeXB Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 That would be great because Teamspeak won’t recognize HOTAS button which makes push to talk a struggle. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Mars Exulte Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Uh... yeah it does. I've had P2T on a trigger on my throttle for years on end. It doesn't care what you assign to it. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
SharpeXB Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I’ll have to try it again. There are ways to do key emulation on CH but it’s not very user friendly. Teamspeak accepted a gaming mouse button but no luck with the HOTAS. obviously I’d want it assigned to the radio PT button. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Mars Exulte Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 That's odd. I was using Saitek gear in my case, X52/X55. I never had an issue, just select it in the TS options and click the desired button, no emulation required. I wonder if there's a quirk with the CH throttle, then? I have noticed that sometimes specific buttons are "pre-mapped" for example I had one that opened the ESC menu, and there was no way to change it. Slightly OT considering the thread, but anyway... TaoGaming Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 +1 Would also like to see a native VOIP integration in DCS. Imagine to just use the ingame coms and everyone on the frequency and with the right encryption can hear you. You might actually get a feedback, when calling “raygun”. :smilewink:
Capn kamikaze Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 +1 for built in VOIP, but there should be two modes, easy and one linked to aircraft radio frequencies.
