Good post. It is interesting to see what Falcon looks like. I had wondered about getting it. Now I suspect it is a little too realistic for me but wouldn't have known that without watching this movie, so thanks for that!

lol! nothing offending or against the hardcore sim nuts here :p ... but I rather prefer lock on style hardcore flight models etc....rather than spending time pressing every single button. Thats the one reason I never bothered with F4. Thats just my opinion and thats just how i like it. I know I will never be a fighter pilot ...so I rather be an armchair one who flies aircraft in lomac style sim with "semi-real" avionics but ultra real flight model. :)

The A/G and A/A modes are quite similar between F4 OF and LO but the main differences are that in OF you have a few extra features in these modes. OF is the most complex Falcon mod that you can get. BTW you can get an F-16 ramped up in 3 minutes in a scramble take off. Thats with a very quick INS allignment.

You can in F4 select either Ramp, Taxi or Take off, ramp starts are not compulsory. I only do them if I have spare time.

Ok I just got a chance to view the Vid.. Its very nicely done..

 

IMO OF is the best version of Falcon to date... The good news is that I really like the way that they've updated the MFD to show color.. And of course the clickable cockpit and avionics are unapproachable to date.. Now for the bad news it appears that they're still using ayae's 2D pit and it also looks like its not TIR4 6 DOF compatible.. So for those reasons I'm not too happy with it...

 

And of course the graphics are still very dated (ex. missile explosions)....

 

But that is just some minor flaw's the avionics in this thing are just incredible and outshine everything else here..

 

And for that reason OF Rocks... :thumbup:

but i suggest you to visit globalfalcon.org to check all infos before, because you will need it to install and set it up properly.

 

NOTE: I am not going to make PR for any oppenent product but as i said it is always good, especially as DEV to know other products goods and bads and to listen AND TO RESPOND users thinkings and not only from commercial strategic aspects.

my ff3 went up to 10 gigs, and now added with OF and RV. That's a lot of falcon. Lock On is kinda small now, only 3 gigs.

When BS comes out....first thing is to try out the avionics....but then turn em off to the level of the Su 25T, FULL AFM, FULL realism (without the avionics :p .. su25T style is enough for me ) and fly in the skies. ;D

Yeah I found I had to get a new hard drive when ODS was released as I now have it installed on both AF and OF haven't put it on RV yet though. Thats alot of space:doh: . Thing about that movie is that in some of the scenes are in the dark with the instrument lights off which makes it much more difficult for people to see whats going on maybe if they had used their NVGs it might have been easier to see whats going on.

You can use the keyboard, just about everything is mapped to the keyboard for people with home cockpits. The startup may seem complex but its not really, if you try out the rampstart trainer you would pick it up quite easily after a few goes.

Oh yeah :lol: I'm still having problems with the Avionics in AF..

 

But then I don't really go there often enough I guess. When I first got Af in October I was really reading everything and trying to get into a routine, which I think is the best way to learn..

 

But then I started the new system build, and so I lost interest..

I've been trying to go back AF but haven't had the time let alone OF...

 

Of course I will eventually in due time get this sorted out just like I do everything else...
