Improvements To The Ka-50 to Include New Graphical Effects & Rendering Technologies!

Curious if ED plans to improve the 3D model (inside and out) to some extent as well? The module deserves that for sure. Along the same lines, the 3D pilot figure needs some love imho, too.

Oh, that's a bugger! I just had a night flight and found nothing worked, so that's why.

Thanks

You're welcome.

But, if it's night already, NVG device is already installed by crew.

Just hit the key and enable it.

I've always been optimist about Ka-50 and DCS 2.5. I have to admit, sadly, that this time I was wrong. Maybe ED team is too much loaded with F-18 and other modules tasks... but we have a Ka-50 with terrible texture for dawn/dusk/night flying in cockpit, some key part of the code not working anymore (DL) since months.

Now we know that it's unlikely to see texture fixed before the end of 2018, and the DL bug is still there after months. The nature of my sadness is not about the very long time needed to address those issue, but also cause now we know that any new issue/bug is unlikely to be prioritized in the future.

The worst thing is that we don't have a real alternative to fly a real combat helicopter... we have 2 incredible utility models and a Gazelle that is a light recon airframe. We also don't have a timeframe for Mi-24P and AH-1S... given that both have limitations in the combat role in a modernized scenario like the ones we can expect to see often now that we have F-18C in our lineup.

So I can't be that happy to see this news...

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

Oh - well that's what I was doing and nothing was happening. It was on one of the missions that comes with the Ka-50, so not an add-on one. Curious. Unless the missions have not been updated.

I'll give it another go and if it doesn't work this time I'll restart and see if there is an option in comms before take-off.

NVG definitely not working in the Night Patrol mission - and as the mission starts on the Runway, it's not possible to talk to ground crew.

Quite amusing that the mission briefing image is one through the NVG :P

I'm 100% certain that the NVGs *do* work in this mission...but you have to request them. Even though you're on the runway. Call up the radio, select ground crew then request NVG (or something like that). Default for the radio is \ I believe.

Sorry if that comes across as being an arse. Not intended that way.

I truly hope there is a blue pit in the update!

I never had a feeling of well being like I do in Devrim's Blue pit.

The blue just eradicates any 2.5 brightness problems as light bounces around that beautiful bright flowery pit.... perfect!

There is simply no better way of decapitating your enemy and then moving in to obliterate all remaining weak and feeble oposition.

When the blood work is done and bone has been cut...... The world is still bright and right.

Who would a thunk a simple blue colour would be so beautiful.

Great to hear a new update is coming.

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

I'll have to go back and have another look. IIRC when I opened the menu it was on the request take-off stage so I backed it up to look, but I can't remember exactly what was present and whether groundcrew was greyed out or not there.

Check right alt + comms Button if you are using realistic comms.
And remember to select the correct radio on the radio selector on the left panel (I don't remember the correct name of the knob, and not at home to check). It's not the same as for ATC.

Yes the SPU-9 Needs to be set on 2 O´clock position, but if the window is open it should work even when its greyed out.

As the helicopter is all set up for the off, on the runway, I had assumed that everything would be set up as it should be (otherwise why have it start on the runway, ready for take-off?) but of course it's possible that it isn't.

Like I said, I'll give it another look - probably tomorrow.

There we got it.

I believed if you have your throttles in operational mode (not idle, sorry for bad memory about correct naming), the "door method" don't work, but indeed I can be wrong.

I mean (but did not write) more in line with full rotor speed VS idle rotor speed, but I trust you.
