Hi,

I am havign a very hard time with HARM missles int he SU25t. Both the KH58 and KH25mpu missles. I am unable to get them to lock and launch on the radar missles.

I took all the info from the training misisons, all the proper keys. I can load and select the missles. I can also move therecticle on the hud with my mini-stick or using the keyboard.

I load the pod, and the missles, take off and I even setup maps with the missles and ground units. I forgot the names of the targets. I have to go back intot he isison to put the names here. But, my wingment have no problems locking and launching on the targets. I setup these practice missions with more AI wingmen.

Anyone know what I might possibly be doing wrong? :helpsmilie:

The training missions says:

7 key, eables, grnd attack mode. 'D' selects the weapons. Alt-I stabilize the aircraft. Alt-4 Barometer. ECM=E key. etc..etc...

I really don''t have these difficulties in Falcon 4 (that's the only othe rflight sims that is so technical, so I can't say this about any other flight sims and technical issues.

Thanx..

from a training manual:

I’ve already activated the air-to-ground mode and have turned the ETS pod on (I-key) to detect and display the threat data on the HUD. Threats are projected on the HUD as diamonds and the square targeting data cursor can be moved over the diamond and selected to lock your missile onto the threat. Once you’ve selected the target the diamond turns to a circle and a range bar appears on the left side of the HUD. An arrow will fall down the range bar (maximum range is indicated by the thick tick line on the scale) and when launch parameters are realized a “launch authorized” cue will appear and your ready weapon station will flash.

Pilotasso, yes they are High Speed Anti Radiaton Missiles for the Su-25t in the game.

Ramstein,

you must have the right Pod on your belly.

Then press 7, D for the right weapon, I for turning on the pod, then use the recticle to go over the target and lock it with TAB.

Are you getting a launch authorization? (LA) (nP)

also.. Push the space bar to fire one you meet the launch parameters. (LA) What happens?

If they shoot- you have a stick issue. Check your mappings and if you use the stick software for your profiling- check for a conflict with LOMAC's default mappings. You should delete them all anyway if you are using your stick's profiling software.

Explained here.

It maybe the types of sams units I put ont he map.. The missions I downloaded had BUK, OSA, KUB, and TOR Units launching Sams... I put other types in that launched their G-A mmissles, and hte su25t planes were AI, had no problem launching harms... I was uanble to against the G-A anti-radiation Sams. I forgot the names and still have to go intot eh game to give the names of those ground untis that gave me those problems....

but appears I can launch against BUK, OSA, KUB, and TOR Units launching Sams... and also hit the missles in mid air after they launch. I am sorry I don't have the names of al the units, vehicles, and missles right now to include.... but you get the idea. I am now just confused why the su25 A-I can launch and hit the some sams, but I can't.. I am like WTF ??

But yet both the AI and I can hit the BUK, OSA, KUB, and TOR Units launching Sams. But not the other types (I will get those names soon... I jsu tneed to wrtie them dwon whiel I am int he game, or copy them off some menu help file..

A couple of points that might be relevant. An ARM will only guide in on the radar of a vehicle. So for a typical SAM site, you can only fire ARM's at the radar vehicles, not at every vehicle. eg

S-300 site, it has 3 radar vehicles and a number of launcher vehicles.

KUB has a radar vehicle (both search and track radars on the one vehicle) and a bunch of launcher vehicles.

BUK has a search radar vehicle and a number of tracker/launcher vehicles, that is to say each launcher vehicle has a small tracking radar to guide its missiles once the target location has been passed to it by the search radar. Kill the seach radar and the site is harmless but as there is radar energy radiating from the tracker/launchers you can lock onto them too.

Smaller range SAM's like TOR are self-contained ie the vehicle has the radar and the missiles all on the one vehicle.

OSA is the same, except that there is often an accompanying vehicle called OSA ld that just carries spare missiles. Of course, you won't be able to lock an ARM onto the reload vehicle.

If your AI are firing at some vehicles that you cannot lock onto with an ARM are you 100% sure that the AI are using ARM's themselves? A typical load that a mission designer might put on an AI Su-25 would be a couple of ARM's to deal with the radar vehicles, plus some laser guided missiles to use against the rest of the vehicles.

You have al the jargon down right,, I need to be better at explaining what I am working on,,, but that must be the problem I had I put the wrong type on the map and could not lock , but still had these missles come up at me.... it was very frustrating what I was doing wrong. I was frustrated cause I had no problems in Falcon 4, and wondered why I am screwing up in lockon. I really need to find the names of the arm vehicles. Problem is the Russain names are so hard to remember, if I don't write them down.
