mehksauce Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 f-15c or su-27 in terms of dogfighting and air superiorirty pvp weapon restrictions so no aim120 and equivalent russian missiles and radar/rwr system? minus pilots experience and knowledge ofc. ( say their both equal )
VZ_342 Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Very comparable, imho. It really gets down to “see first, shoot first”.
StandingCow Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 BVR the F15C. Once the dogfight starts probably the edge to the su27. imo 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo
Mars Exulte Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 As others mentioned they're very similar aircraft. Edge in some things to Eagle, to Flanker in others. All things being equal you're probably looking at a mutual kill situation. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
mehksauce Posted September 20, 2018 Author Posted September 20, 2018 in terms of radar systems and rwr who has an edge here?
RaceFuel85 Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 in terms of radar systems and rwr who has an edge here? Eagle. The APG63 was a superior radar alone, now that they've started adding AESA transmitters and other digital bus units...it's even better.

( say their both equal ) So an engineering dream & not a real-world fight where anything can and will happen????:joystick: Not hating, just feel like these conservations won't ever end & since both aircraft are still so classified not enough data other than how much each costs $...., cause pilot experience never matters it seems in these hypothetical situations, cause that's never been a deciding factor in history (Korea)

First thing to degrade in war is supply. The replenishment of weapons and repair assets is reduced, then eliminated. A plane might have to go with a reduced loadout, and after firing the one or two AMRAAMs it's down to a heater and a gun. EW can change rapidly as the war develops. The good ol' Mk I Eyeball would still work, subject to camouflage effectiveness of the hostiles. Personally I like the perpetual "what if" questions. Some details can be worked out and developed into a Mission, and if it's a curious situation it would be replayable. Just for fun. :pilotfly:
