Hi. I already did mention this Idea somewhere in this forum. I will do again because I feel is important. We still have not a dedicated playable Recon module, al least not a pod recon carrier one. Seem the first to implemented Recon will be the F-14, but... what about if next developer want to implement recon in a different way. This implementation must be made by developers instead 3th parties. Mig-25 is a possible recon module, but also we already have Mig-21 that have a recon version with a recon pod, not yet implemented.

I know this is not high priority, but this is a good immersion and a first step, that in my opinion should be taken first by you.

Please make an inbuild photo sharing in DCS software itself and own a small hosting photo server by you with a limit time host of 6 hours per user. after this time the hosted photo will be removed automatic. Of course this Hosting server can NOT have the option to host the photo forever but instead will have a limit hosting time that could be ex. 6 hours that is the regular time a mission work in MP. This service can be linked with the player account as well with the specific Recon Aircraft to ensure the best security as possible, plus all the option linked with the old filters of the photos and resolution of them. the player will share the photo link depending of many factors such could be only after the aircraft land will show a message with the hosted photos gotten in the recon pod. Other ideas could be a inbuild photo viewer other wise you need to make from scratch a Web version.

Second idea and I don't like much this option: The other option is create a way to share a http link with a text message. simple like that... just make an option in the Rearm menu option that let us share a link when hit some extra option in Comms menu. this link will direct the player to a hosting photo link where will be hosted the pictures previous taken by the recon aircraft unit. The player only need to set a folder to share automatically in his personal or server hosting photo provider. Like that you can implement easily a recon task in a MP server.

there are some points regarding the realistic, as old photo filters, the amount of resolution etc etc.

Great idea.

I really like the idea of a recon pod and associated missions and methods to use.

+1.. might sound boring to some people but I'd love a recon aspect added to DCS, you're given some coordinates and from there you must locate and identify both known and unknown threats.

This is not true. The Viggen has dedicated recon capabilities (it even has a recon master mode) and those are implemented in DCS, although not really being used by most players.

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Ho Sorry didn’t notice this. I don’t have the Viggen, how is implemented?

There's a video showing the Viggen doing low level photorecon RF-8 style

It would be cool to have photo recon as a gameplay feature. Like the first mission of a campaign being a low level run on an airbase seeing which hangars/revetments to hit and getting the snaps back to base safely giving you the upper hand in the 2nd strike mission.

1+. I would love to see some kind of recon in DCS too.

For easy sharing of recon data, they could simply implement Recon mark points, like the orange ones we can place on the F10 map today, but then maybe make them small squares, or smaller white circles, just something to differentiate from the orange mark points.

With that, then with a certain config -a recon configuration, do the recon run, given ideal altitude, given ideal speed, and do the recon pass on say an airfield. When approaching the airfield, pull the trigger to collect data.

When returned to your coalition airbase, when plane is powered down, the gathered data is added to the F10 map, with the above recon mark points.

If you havent been flying straight, if you were too low and too fast, or simply too high, the probability of detecting a unit (depending on its size), and identifying the given unit, drops.

So a data point (mark point) could for example specify 30% chance of it being a Shilka - but could turn out to be a Tunguska etc.

The lower the light conditions, the worse the detection and correctly identifying gets too.

Also X km/meters/feet from the flight path, the detection/ID probability drops, depending on altitude.

Lots of parameters to consider.

This would certainly be cool to have integrated into the proposed dynamic campaign.
